This the latest from Jeff at the LL:
It's just going to be a VERY limited collector's piece - 2,500 copies ONLY, serial numbered from 1-2500, that will be called "Obey The Doors."
It will be a 4-disc package, 3 CDs of songs, from the singles to more obscure gems and one 5 minute DVD of an edit of live performance footage, with a montage going in and out of five songs. Not for the serious Door-o-phile, per se, but more of a reminder of what makes The Doors so DAMN cool in the first place - which is why we put this package together - it originally came out of an idea to make a comprehensive sampler for film and TV music supervisors, as a "Doors Kit" they could use to determine if Doors material would fit into a particular movie or TV show.
What WILL be included will be five never-before-seen Joel Brodsky photos printed individually on heavy stock, in a separate sleeve, AND a hand-signed Shepard Fairey Jim Morrison litho. Each copy will be individually signed by Shepard Fairey, the "Obey/Giant" artist.
The whole thing will be bound in a CD-sized book, which, in turn, will be encased in a Lizard-skin look black paper, with another never-before-seen Doors photo by Brodsky on the cover.
They will be sold exclusively online by Rhino Handmade, and, as I said, only 2500 are being manufactured. The retail price, I believe (do NOT quote me on this) will be $79.95. Once they're gone, they're history.
A bit too high priced for me, especially if 3 of the CDs are just studio tracks again.
