All right
Wild child full of grace Savior of the human race Your cool face
Natural child, terrible child Not your mother's or your father's child Your our child, screamin' wild
An ancient lunitic reigns In the trees of the night Ha, ha, ha, ha
With hunger at her heels Freedom in her eyes She dances on her knees Pirate prince at her side Stirrin' into The hollow idols eyes
Wild child full of grace Savior of the human race Your cool face Your cool face Your cool face
Do you remember when we were in Africa?

An interesting Doors song as it is one of the very few that is documented on film during the recording process. When the band was filming for Feast Of Friends it just so happened that in late 1968 the crew captured 'Wild Child' in the studio as it was being recorded as B Side to a taster single 'Touch Me'.
The line 'Do you remember when we were in Africa?' has been interpreted as a refernce to one of Jim's heroes Arthur Rimbaud who travelled through Africa. But also Paul Ferrara was looking after the filming of FOF and he and his wife had worked in Africa and recently returned. So it may well have been a playful reference to him. John Densmore thought this was the stupidest ending to a song he had ever heard. But like the 'stronger than dirt' comment on Touch Me it worked.
Morrison had a great deal of interest in American Indian culture so it's likely it evolved from this. The music reflects this kind of native shamanistic environment with a screaming guitar, blistering drumbeats and powerful organ.
