my missis plays on my length, does that make her a long player? It's more to do with length of time than length of instrument!!!!! If she has stamina then, yes, she's a long player!!!!!!

I don't spend a fortune on mint condition vinyl 'cos I'd be afraid of scratching it if I played it!!!!!!!
You don't have to. They're on ebay for $5 - $10. Thats dollars not british pounds. That would be something like 3-5 GBP's. Only first pressings are expensive.

Here's my collection and what I paid. The Doors (NM late 70's re-issue) $6 Strange Days (sealed new German import) $25 Waiting For The Sun (mint late 70's re-issue) $5 The Soft Parade (mint late 70's re-issue) $6 Morrison Motel (VG+ First Pressing) Absolutely Live (VG+ Late 70's Re-Issue) Wierd Scenes Inside The Goldmine (VG 70's Re-issue) All 3 in a $15 lot. LA Woman (Mint late 70's Reissue) $10 Other Voices (VG+ First Pressing) $6 Other Voices (sealed first pressing) $25 Full Circle (sealed new german import) $25 Alive She Cried (NM first press) Free from a friend. Live At The Hollywood Bowl (sealed first press) $15 The Best Of The Doors (VG++ late 70's re-issue) Gift from my dad. I think he got it at a thrift shop for 50 cents. An American Prayer (VG late 70's pressing.. possibly origional) $6 So yea.. unless you get first pressings and/or sealed LP's they are not expensive. A big reason I get the LP's is because its alot cheaper then CD's and they sound better. Unless you dont have a turntable theres no good reason to get CD's. And I have a CD burner. So I have the LP's AND CD's for half the price of a CD. Which sounds smarter?

I used to have over 1000 vinyl LPs some from the 60s....all immaculate condition....but after my divorce they were a pain to drag around so I sold them including my first edition Doors albums......CD was easier and even though I enjoy the sound.....I always will have a soft spot for vinyl...... CD and CDDVD are wonderful inventions but the sound of an LP was something special.....a shame but I guess thats progress for you....

All my records have been bought cheaply!!! The man in the second hand record shop knows me now and lets me have them for cheaper than their marked price which is usually only £2.50 to start with!!!!! And the really good ones........he keeps back, just for me!!!!!!!! Most I've paid for a Doors LP was £5 anyway!!!!!
