Today at my highschool we had a drug awareness assembly. Jim Morrison was mentioned along other famous drug abusers. Anyway one of the speakers played with the band that opened for The Doors that night in New Haven. He's the first one to have discovered Jim backstage with a girl. He tried to interfer and Jim told him to "fuck himself" (along those lines) This guy called for the cops, and of course we know the story from there on. He actually was the one who filed the complaint against Morrison that evening. I talked to him after the presentation and said "so you're the one who put blood on the streets in the town of New Haven" and he laughed and said "yep"

That is so cool Matt! They have been searching for the 'girl' for years now.....can't remember if they ever found her but seem to recall they discovered her name...... Did he know it was Morrison who he had 'ratted out'? Did he watch the performance? That sure as hell is ONE gig I wish a bloody bootlegger HAD attended..... An amazing little snippet....wonder if your fellow students appreciated it?

he said the girl was from either Central or Southern Connecticut University. No he only saw Jim from behind, and described him as "some long haired kid" I'd assume he watched the performance but I'm not sure. Hopefully the other students appreciated it, in the beginning he said "you all know who Jim Morrison is right?" and we got a lot of cheers.

I doubt that back then when we were your age many old buggers like me who were Doors fans ever thought they would be hearing stuff like that in the 21st century.... Its been a long hard road being a Doors fan but its nice to see that all the passion of the 70s was not wasted and there are kids as mad as 'we' were back then still knocking around today..... I'm obviously biased but its good to see you kids have got some musical taste ...... ;D

well i am pleased as three or maybe even four kids from my top set year 10 class like the doors. one has even seen the hollywood bowl that her older brothers got. so new generations will always find the doors, more s in the states i would imagine. but it happened to me and it will keep heppening. that is one cool story jimbo, that would have been so cool to attend. i would have called him a miserable mother fuckin grass myself and slapped him LOL but your comment was a little smarter!

I was fortunate enough to go to high school were the Doors were quite popular, at least there were a lot of "average" fans
