you know the PBS critique performance on the soundstage DVD? well pat kenealy (however spelt) and two other dudes are introduced as a discussion panel regarding the doors before they show the doors perform. i wonder why they didnt include the actual discussion they had on the soundstage dvd? does a recording of this discussion exist? and on another note how the hell could jim have a relationship with PK? she was a hippopotakangarillapig!

I have a vhs tape of the "Critique" show thats about 15 years old. It includes the panel discussion and the performance. I don't have the Soundstage Performance DVD. It's been customary for The Doors Management to only release bits and pieces of film footage. They usually hold back certain scenes to be included in another release which adds up to a bigger profit margin. I think Doors fans are basically hip to this fact having made purchases time and time again just to find out its not a complete show. Eventually they will most likely release the show in it's entirety but not till they have exhausted every avenue of partial release. Sound familiar? Back in the late 70's and 80's bootleggers did the same thing in releasing Doors shows. I remember joining in a discussion in 2001 I think it was one of the last internet discussions The Doors website held. Krieger and Sugarman were answering people's questions and I asked where was the additional film footage from the 1968 Doors tour? Only bits and pieces of film showed up in video tapes obviously spliced and diced to make music videos. According to Frank Liscinadro (sp) many hours of film existed. I phrased my question using "Waiting For The Sun" tour as a reference because they had released Waiting For The Sun and were on the road to promote it in the summer of '68 of course Krieger said there wasn't a tour......... This is the answer I got to my question: (20:22:48) Narelle : darkstar2525 :Are there any plans to release any shows/videos from the Waiting For the Sun Tour 1968? (20:23:34) ROBBY :There wasn't really a Waiting For The Sun Tour (20:23:40) ROBBY :no video (20:04:47) Backdoor man :Why is there so few material from 67- 68? (20:24:18) ROBBY :Next *****Previous question about videos****** (19:51:48) danceonfire :Will BMR be remastering and releasing; shows that have been or will be released on DVD such as (20:08:42) ROBBY :such as... (19:51:48) danceonfire :Will BMR be remastering and releasing; shows that have been or will be released on DVD such as (19:51:21) Butterfly21 :Are there any unreleased video of Jim or the doors due to be released? (20:10:08) Danny : danceonfire, there are no plans to re release anything that's already been put out on home video or dvd (20:10:08) dot :From: Michael Dupras (doop@twcny.rr.com) (20:10:29) Danny :Feast of Friends and HWY Source: home.new.rr.com/doorsinnercircle/bmrtrans.htmlHaving heard so many lies and promises made over the years by Doors Management I don't believe anything they say anymore until the product with a track listing appears on the market. It's really sad that Doors fans are treated this way and in my opinion it is a contributing factor as to why the Doors fan base shows little interest anymore.

I was at Kerry Humphrey's Doorsfest & Danny was asking if we wanted the whole critique show on the DVD or just the music portion, but obviously when Soundstage came out the panel discussion not there. I don't see how they think portioning things is better than having the complete documents in a context, if they put the WHOLE Critique show from begin to end I think it would have sold a whole lot better, you know I would've paid for the complete Crituque as 1 video or DVD & been fine with releasing the other stuff seperately, they get 2 releases & the fans get complete shows.

If a 'hippopotakangarillapig' is a similar phrase that we use here on Teesside as 'an auld boot' then I have to agree...she was never what you could describe as 'pretty' but I think Jim just had a thing fro red hair.....and she was smart and sassy and I think he like that...... As far as the PBS release is concerned Jim is spot on they could have put out PBS as a standalone show and it would have sold if it had been complete but I have been getting shortchanged by The Doors since my 20s so am kinda used to it now.... Don't expect any new philosophy from Doors PLC now....Sugerman for all HIS faults was a Doors fan....this Jampol fool is just a Ray stooge who will do what he's told and it would not surprise me if we saw BMR releases get doctored and the 'Doors concerts as they happened' credo get flushed down the pan........ Why the hell The Doors don't just sell over the net like other bands is beyond comprehension.....but idiots ran the show before Danny died and idiots run the show now.......as I have been saying since the first ridiculous statement on the LL about the new dawn of BMR...to quote 'peado Pete'..'meet the new boss.....same as the old boss' .....

You know, it just maybe they're old & still think the old avenues of selling stuff is the best way, sure you put up websites & message boards but that's just the advertising to get people to the store, I guess.

I haven't watched the video tape I have in ages....I do recall one of the panelists saying the Doors wouldn't last. I remember Kennelly looked like a skank. Jim must of been drunk when he went out with her.
I'll have to watch the tape again to refresh my memory on other details.

well o suppose the doors didnt last too long after 1969 but as far as popularity goes, they are gonna well out last the beatles, due to their sound being dated. kennelly was a skank! jim must have been drunk WTF was he thinking? ok so she was clever, and probably had a lot in common, but come on jim!
