THE DOORS LIVE - MEDIA LINE'S INTERVIEW WITH BRUCE BOTNICK JANUARY 23, 2001
Subject: Bright Midnight Records
JV: "If things are exhausted from your vaults would you ever consider doing what Frank Zappa has done - the Hendrix people have done it too, a kind of "Amnesty" situation, where people can bring tapes to you..."
BB: "We've already put that out on the web, we're asking people if they've got recordings of shows that we didn't record, and there are lots of shows that we didn't record, and there are lots of shows that are on cassette and historically it's worthwhile to have it and we'll put it out...there's no amnesty there - nobody's taken anything from the vaults so what we're talking about is new stuff...music...new cities, so yes, we're totally open.
They can contact us, they can call The Doors Office 310-274-8471 and call up and say "I've got a cassette...my dad went to this show and recorded it...and - maybe we can work something out because it's important that everybody has as much as possible, that's available. Nobody's going to get whacked over the head or any attorneys or any kind of things like that, we're not angry with anybody. We just want to get as much material as possible. We're interested in everything."
