www.youtube.com/watch?v=W66Y5ZG6Hy8The Doors on "BBC TV Centre" 1972 I'm Horny I'm Stoned Take 4. Old Grey Whistle Test BBC 2 TV Centre,London..England -Tuesday, May 9, 1972: studio guests Tom Paxton, The Doors Brilliant as I thought this lost forever. It says Take 4 on the footage so this is likely something saved by a technician as the OGWT footage that was broadcast was likely wiped. Nice bit of slide by Robby. Good to see that again. I thought they did Eye Of The Sun and Tightrope Ride on OGWT but my memory is not what it used to be. Must admit it was an odd choice for such a prestigious TV programme which was followed avidly by a great many rock fans back then even if we never knew what time the fucking programme was gonna be on

1972-05-05 "The Old Grey Whistle Test" BBC2 TV Centre - London, England Source: 1st Generation Length: 38:18 Quality: A+ (Television Recording)
Introduction / I'm Horny, I'm Stoned (Take 1) / I'm Horny, I'm Stoned (Take 2) / I'm Horny, I'm Stoned (Take 3) / I'm Horny, I'm Stoned (Take 4) / Ships With Sails (Take 1) / Ships With Sails (Take 2) / In The Eye Of The Sun (Take 1) / In The Eye Of The Sun (Take 2)
Broadcast on May 9, 1972. This is recently discovered raw footage of The Doors performing on The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1972. This is uncut footage of the group working out a few different songs for the broadcast (only "I'm Horny, I'm Stoned" and "In The Eye Of The Sun" are aired). There's a lot of downtime between songs and they goof around a bit. These performances feature live vocals but pre-recorded music.
Just found this and it seems I was right about Eye Of The Sun. I thought Tightrope Ride was the other one they played but was mistaken on that.

The programme also featured The Doors on March 14th 1972 although not in the studio as that would come in May when they toured the UK. It would have been a track from Other Voices or perhaps a Jim Doors track from the recently released Weird Scenes compilation album. The OGWT featured so many artists I liked and it's hard to be certain. March 14th 1972 Old Grey Whistle Test Presenter: Richard Williams,
