HEARING DELAYED Miami Public Library Florida Collection July 8 1969
An extradition hearing for rock singer Jim Morrison of “The Doors” wanted by Miami authorities on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior, indecent exposure and open profanity, was postponed Monday in Los Angeles.
SINGERS RETURN HELD UP Miami Public Library Florida Collection August 28 1969
A decision as in whether rock singer Jim Morrison will be extradited from California to face lewd and lascivious behavior charges in Miami was deferred Wednesday.
Richard K. Turner, legal aide to Gov. Ronald Regan, said the Governor’s office would issue it’s decision with the next 20 days.
Attorney’s for Morrison, lead singer of the Doors, argued at a hearing before Turner in Sacramento that because of adverse publicity he would be unable to get a fair trial in Miami.
Morrison was charged after a wild show he put on at Miami’s Dinner Key Auditorium March 1.
