Well, you asked how much I love you
Why do ships with sails love the wind?
And will I be thinking of you
will I ever pass this way again?
I'll be returning some day
Until then
please don't ask me my direction
Let my tracks be buried in the sea
Cause to wander's my infection
till the four winds bring you back to me
Don't count your memories
think of me as just a dream
Just like this melody I sing
I was surprised to learn in 2024 that I was wrong about SWS being a Ray Manzarek song.
It was credited to Robby Krieger & John Densmore and is the best song on the LP.
No surprise JD was involved as this was the only chance for John to do a drum solo and you can hear that on any of the 3 1972 TV shows that exist of the band as a trio.
Another fine example of Ray Manzarek the singer who also drives the ship forward with some magnificent keyboard playing.
A song similar to Riders On The Storm but more upbeat in it's themes.
A jazz waltz featuring two bass guitars in the form of stand up bassman Willie Ruff joining Ray Neapolitan on conventional electric bass guitar. John Desnmore does his Break On Through style latin beats helped out by percussion wizard Francisco Aguabella.

What are your thoughts on Manzarek's vocal talents?..
What direction do YOU think the band would have gone in if they had carried on after Full Circle?
What could have the doors become?
Should the band have carried on at all without Jim Morrison in 1971?
40 Years On....should The Doors have carried on?
Could an effective Doors replacement have been found for Jim Morrison in 1972/73?
Could Jim have been replaced in 1972?
What has been the best Post Jim Doors moment for YOU in the last 40 years?
