#3. Cal State Eagle's Nest Gym, Los Angeles CA 6th October 1967The band comes home to Los Angeles to play an incredible set full of energy and dynamism. Morrison screams with the vitality of ten men and performs part of the shows final song on his back belting out the final lines as the audience pushes forward causing security to circle the stage as the band climaxes on an electric evening of music and drama. UCLA The Daily Bruin. 12-10-1967 # This is Danny Sugarman's first Doors gig. 6-10-1967 College Times 11-10-1967 College Times

#6 New York State University, Oswego Lee Hall Gym, Oswego NY 11th September 1967Some time before the gig the band attend the local Oswego radio station for an interview. The interview would turn up on one of Bright Midnight Lost Interviews and is quite interesting as the band was just getting to grips with their new found fame after LMF hit #1 in the whole country. 8-9-1967 The Oswegonian, University Newspaper NY 15-9-1967 The Oswegonian, University Newspaper NY 20-2-1992 The Oswegonian, University Newspaper NY

#9 Crescenta Valley High School Gym CA 26th May 1967The Doors perform at Crescenta Valley High School in La Crescenta, CA. Due to a problem with the sound system, they only play a few songs. This is another concert not mentioned in Greg Shaw's Doors On The Road Book "Apparently in the high school's history on Wiki they say JM "defaced" the wall of the gym. For years, the exact date of this show was unknown, but just recently, a Crescenta Valley High School alum named Steve Smith unearthed and shared a rare student handout he had miraculously saved for over four decades which describes the exact date and time of The Doors' appearance at the school. As revealed in Steve's original handout, the band was booked to play during an assembly period from 3:00PM to 4:00PM on Friday, May 26, 1967.
Author and photographer Ralph Hulett attended this show and wrote a description of it along with his memories of the Cal State Los Angeles show on Oct. 6, 1967 in the Sept.-Oct. 2010 issue Record Collector News. You can read his entire article below, courtesy of the magazine and the author. Also included are two rare photos from this show featured in an issue of KRLA Beat. The band backstage prior to the concert. Doug Ward remembers: "A few of us were detailed to help the band get in and get set up. This was just at the moment when the band started to take off. 'Light My Fire' had just started playing on all the local rock stations. But there was probably no money from that coming in yet, and they were still a Hollywood club band, playing all the local gigs. I don't remember much about the preparations, except that when they were over and the band was on stage, I stationed myself in front of one of the big amp-headed speakers, stage left. Total bliss. Morrison was stalking across the stage singing. The mix was great. Then, I'm not sure what actually happened, but I understood then that someone backstage decided to add a little more power to Morrison's vocal, and some piece of the band's equipment blew. His vocal went down to almost nothing. They plugged his mic into the auditorium's sound system so the concert could proceed, but the mix was terrible, and his voice could barely be heard. I wasn't there when the band broke down their equipment and left. I didn't see or hear of Jim Morrison writing his name on the wall of the school, but maybe someone else that was with them then can corroborate." TDPRI.com Sue Laney remembers: "We couldn't wait to hear them in person, so into the auditorium we all crowded with our Pendletons and our sun-bleached surfer bangs. Were we ready for psychedelia? I thought I was, but when the sound equipment conked out and Jim was having a temper melt down, I wasn't so sure. I think I vaguely remember hearing 'Light My Fire' — maybe 'The Crystal Ship' — then Jim stomped off the stage mumbling profanities. Where did he go? Was he coming back? Rumors spread about him getting himself locked in the equipment room (is that where the elusive 'autograph on the wall' is lurking?). I think the concert lasted about a half hour; can't quite remember." ## Below the October 1967 issue of The Beat Magazine features 2 photos from this concert ## 7-10-1967 The Beat
