Doors Classics Reworked For Acoustic Guitar
Acoustic guitars serve as the focal point of new Doors covers album.
For the most part, the Doors was all about loud rock n' roll. But on the new release by guitarists James Lee Stanley and Cliff Eberhardt, All Wood and Doors, twelve Doors classics are reworked for acoustic guitar. And the duo has enlisted former Doors members Robby Krieger (guitar) and John Densmore (drums) to lend a hand, as well as Peter Tork (Monkees) and Timothy B Schmit (Eagles), among others.
As evidenced by their renditions of such ditties as "Break On Through," "Love Me Two Times," and "People Are Strange," the tunes include all-new musical bits that Stanley and Eberhardt have added to their renditions, before leading into the song's familiar parts.
All Wood and Doors will be released on July 12th via the MVD Entertainment Group, while samples of each song is available.
In a press release, Mr. Densmore had the following to say about All Wood and Doors. "James Lee Stanley and Cliff Eberhardt are excellent pickers and what they did to our songs is unique and refreshing. It was a pleasure to be part of the project."

Robby Krieger, John Densmore Work on Doors Tribute Album
Former Doors Robby Krieger (guitar) and John Densmore (drums) are lending their talents to a unique tribute album to the legendary band. The two musicians are contributing to All Wood and Doors, a release that will include acoustic versions of some of The Doors’ most famous songs.

The album is by acoustic players James Lee Stanley and Cliff Eberhardt, and other special guests include Peter Tork (The Monkees), Timothy B. Schmit (Eagles), Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney and Wings) and others. All Wood and Doors is due out on July 12.
“James Lee Stanley and Cliff Eberhardt are excellent pickers and what they did to our songs is unique and refreshing,” Densmore said in a press release. “It was a pleasure to be part of the project.”
The press release also suggests that the album will marry The Doors’ tunes with harmonies and styles akin to The Beach Boys, The Beatles and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

ROBBY KRIEGER AND JOHN DENSMORE FEATURED ON DOORS CLASSICS FROM NEW ACOUSTIC COVERS ALBUM
The upcoming ‘All Wood and Doors’ album from James Lee Stanley and Cliff Eberhart puts a unique spin on 12 classics from the Doors catalog, with help from an array of special guests including former Doors members John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
Densmore and Krieger, long estranged as collaborators, contribute separately to three tracks each on the new album, with their guest contributions born out of an unknown mutual love affair. Densmore had heard the similar acoustic treatment Stanley had given to songs from the Rolling Stones catalog. During a random meeting, the drummer said he’d love to join in if Stanely were ever to attempt a similar task with Doors songs.
Stanley held Densmore to that promise and later acquired the guest contributions of Krieger in a similar fashion, with additional vocal and instrumental help coming from Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles and Peter Tork of the Monkees.
‘All Wood and Doors’ re-imagines the Doors catalog from an interesting all-acoustic perspective, paired with vocal harmonies that are reminiscent of the Beach Boys and Crosby, Stills and Nash. Once the album is released on July 12, Stanley and Eberhart hope to hit the road and bring the reworked music into a live setting.
