I love this show,Ray, Robby and John were on fire that night and were"On" i quite liked ray's speech about Pere Lachaise as well, he was right on the money when he said it was the perfect place for jim to be buried. Thank goodness there was only a clip of perry farrell's L.A. WOMAN as he wrecked that song, scott stapp was really"On" when he sang"Light My Fire" and"Roadhouse Blues" great voice. Pat Monahan was really good on "Love Me Two Times". All guys on that show did their best and pulled it off imo. ;D ;D ;D

Just a live version of that Godawful tribute album.......Perry farrell was a joke but not as funny as the pathetic kareoke Jims that were on show......worst of all was ian astburys pitiful indian dancing......I was embarrased to watch..... It was nice to see the 3 Doors play together but would have been better if they had done the whole thing themselves.... Pat Monaghan was OK and Travis Meeks did a cool The End but other than the fact it was on my birthday I thought it was a pile of sewage......

I wanted more storytelling, and not the same old stories. Better than nothing, but does that have to be the Doors fan refrain "better than nothing"! it shouldn't be.

I watched VH 1 storytellers properly last night after renting it out...
Whats your fave track on it, if any?
My fave has to be 5 - 1 performed by scott weiland from stone temple pilots and now lead singer for velvet revolver. the other dudes (apart from may be travis meaks) are a bit lame and dont even match morrisons voice for power. but overall i think its pretty good that these dudes got to sing with their heroes....

Very dissapointed with it mate....I thought the majority were a bunch of tossers trying to do a Stars in Their Eyes impression of Jim....only Travis Meeks impressed me with his beautifully chilling version of The End..... It was interesting to see the 3 Door Down play together but was ultimately bollocks....if they had had any guts they would have sung the songs themselves and done a proper tribute to The Doors and Jim rather than pander to some twats from MTV/VH1 and have all those little tossers on the show.

I agree with alex 100% I'd rather have seen Ray and Robbie sing the stuff. As bad as people here might like to say that would sound (I dont think it would) it would have been better then most of the douche bag posers they had as guests.
Scott Weilands rendition of Break On Through I found shitty as the first one I saw.. but then when I saw the others it seemed pretty good. Break On Through is probably the least shitty of all of em. The worst was "Wild Child"........ jesus god all mighty was that aweful. That guy needs a kick in the mouth. Then maybe he'd sing better.
Ian Astbury reminds me of the guy in the B52's. He sings like his jaw is wired OPEN........... LOVE SHACK BABY!

yeh that would be good pep.....but it was awesome to see them play together.... is the fact that they used a basist simply down to ray being to old and haggered to play both bass and rythm keyboard?

I just think it was a tone thing. They never thought it sounded that great and said they only used it out of nessesity. I of course disagree. Half of what made those live performances special is that Rhoads bass.

what!? let me get this straight....they didnt use ray on the bass because they dont think it soungs great? you gotta be shittin me right? thats what gave the doors the fuckin doors sound, like you said....OMG.....i just thought Ray wasnt on the bass keyboard thingy cos he was too old to operate both at the same time. dont they realise that was the essence of the doors!? of course a lot of tunes on albums had a seperate bass and they of course were superb tunes....but like you said the actually real sound of the doors wasa ray on bass....how fuckin strange.
