nice one, never seen any issues of this magazine... unforgivable though how "The Soft Parade" seems to have slipped from the collective minds and memories of this article's writer and editor... it's not in their portrayal of the then 'complete Doors back catalogue'!!! people have been sacked from jobs for presenting far less painful blab, you know

Max Bell's article was not about 1969 but 1967 and the first year of The Doors with an album release. Max was one of the biggest Doors fans writing for a mainstream music paper back in the 70s. He wrote some of the best Doors articles ever seen in the UK. I think TSP was missed out of the competition simply because of room and they wanted to include AP in the albums. I don't think there was anything more sinister than that.
