Mini fanzine review from 2002
My Eyes Have Seen You’ by Jerry Prochnicky & Joe Russo
This excellent 1996 effort features some amazing Doors photo’s and chronicles the evolution of the band from shy wan bee's to rock mega stardom. Witness the Doors first tentative steps through the Whisky -a -Go-Go, Ondine’s and The Scene. Follow the fashions and the haircuts until you get to page 34 when one rare photo sums it all up. Shrouded in red light, hugging the mike, on stage at the Danbury High School oozing dark menace and sensuality stands Jim Morrison, leather clad Rock God. (awesome) Packed with never before seen photo’s and without a word of text the reader travels with the band through New Haven ( with a rare photo of Jim after being maced), Canada, the European tour, triumph at the Madison Square Garden and then tragedy at the Dinner Key in Miami. We call in at the trial and then see The Doors attempt to get it back together. A couple of shots of the last gig in New Orleans and then all that’s left was Paris, a gravestone and some memories of the greatest band that ever walked the Earth and one of the coolest poets to ever pick up a pen. One really cool footnote is the penultimate shot of The Doors at the Hall of Fame with Jim’s sister Anne. (nice touch)
Scorpywag rating 9/10+-missed a bit of text guy’s. AP.
