Another one of these cheap DVD studies of rock bands that seem to be churned out with every passing year. Some decent stuff in it but a lot that isn't. Worth a look but that's about it. No surprise that the packaging is better than a Doors DVD.
I have a Double DVD titled: Inside The Doors 1967-1971, that I think is very similar to The halcyon years. The critical reviewers are the same people, except a couple of them and the performances, too. There are some aditional footage on Inside the Doors, but basically I guess this is the same stuff. This one has a little book (48 pages) with some text, a list of all songs of the six albums, little comments about each song and some pictures.
I think these 2DVDs are repackaged, renamed after two or three years and re-released one more time. I have seen different titles: The Doors story, The Doors: Total rock review, etc. but I think that all are the same thing
