Another great find Elisa JD is indeed the most thoughtful Door. He makes a lot of sense with what he says about Jim but he still goes along with many of the more Manzaresque milkings of Jim. He is quite an enigma to me but at least he tries. I give him credit for that. This magazine section has become rather a cool archive. Hopefully we can build on this and maybe one or two others may get involved.

Like most of the post Jim media it of course places all the blame for everything on Jim Morrison. But it makes no attempt to understand WHY Jim was bored and disruptive. Of course those things have been downplayed and totally hidden by his three duplicitous band mates who never go into too much detail when questions about Buick and the like crop up. It's always 'Jimbo' this or 'Jimbo' that with them. The lies they told and the devious nature of this trio never really sees the light of day in articles like this. Of course there is not a lot to go on but everynow and then a little snippet leaks through the cracks in their tale and gives some light to a different story.
We have a few examples here but Doors fans are too afraid in the main to look and see these people from Morrison's point of view. The utterly disgraceful film When You're Strange saw the level of most Doors fans as they vied to crawl up the ass of director and producers. A film made by three Judases, a liar and an idiot that told one highly biased tale of a dead man who ruined the best band that ever walked on a stage. For me Densmore seems to understand his guilt in all this and does try to make amends in small ways. His stance against the two hypocritical liars who stole The Doors name and Jim Morrison's corpse one of his more decent activities. But of course like Jim he blows it and falls in line sometimes. He is only human...a bit like Jim Morrison...but Jim's faults are laid bare by these three and used to sell stuff and make money. We never see much about WHY Jim could not stand to be sober in the presence of this trio or WHY he was fed up with being a rock star. Like DiCillo's fraudulent film we only see the Jim Morrison they WANT us to see that maximises profit and stops anyone thinking too much about what they did.
Of course Jim was afflicted by demons and did some awful shit in his time that he deserves contempt for but the story of the demise of The Doors should not be laid at HIS 'Door' alone. There were 4 people in that group and only three of them sold The Doors out to a car company. That is one thing that should never be forgotten by Doors fans. But the simpering attention seeking fuckwit of WYS never really existed and was just another example of death by a thousand rumours that Morrison has been inflicted with this last 40 years. History is indeed always written by the victors and for 40 years that has been the case with The Doors. A much maligned Jim Morrison good for business but like all History things are never quite as they seem.
