Ray Manzarek for me was the 'Engine Room' of The Doors....practically everything they did was generated around his distinctive keyboard style that is one of the defining attributes of a Doors song. Classically trained and steeped in boogie woogie and blues from his Chicago days Manzarek was never shy and a sublime entertainer from his earliest days at UCLA and with Morrison set the path that became a legend but how far up the pantheon of rocks greatest keyboard players do you think Ray goes..? Check out Ray with Mike C Ford in a tribute to Jim.... www.henhousestudios.com/artists/mkpgartist.php?artistID=1125

ray is a superb keyboarder in my eyes. of course i have fook all experience with other keyboard players. but lets face it the dude created those unique sounds, he played keyboard and bass at the same time with great ease. the guy was a keyboard god (is)!
