Has anyone heard of this? It mentions virus's on the Doors website. I was not a member then, so I don't remember.
Jeff Jampol, Manager of the Doors, attempts to use the FBI to intimidate DJ Paul Edge and Unlock The Doors
On Friday, November 4, DJ Paul Edge of the Unlock The Doors project received a phone call from the FBI in Los Angeles stating that Jeff Jampol, manager of The Doors Music Company, had lodged two formal complaints against him.
The first complaint circulates around an email that was sent to him, where Jeff claimed Paul Edge had made a threat against him. The email concerned, was sent to a number of industry people. This is hardly the action of someone making a threat. Secondly, Jeff Jampol accused Paul Edge of sending viruses to The Doors message board.
So why would Jeff Jampol use the FBI to intimidate a DJ? Apart from Paul's political stances on a number of issues that have resulted in his blogs being read worldwide, Paul Edge is the man behind the Unlock The Doors project. For 10 months, Paul Edge put his time, money and effort into Unlock The Doors. This was based on numerous emails from Jeff Jampol, a press release and many other guarantees. The project has received radio play globally, with Jeff's written consent. In June 2005 the Unlock the Doors launch party was advertised extensively on The Doors board. Later it was discovered that the commitment of Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger to appear was another lie from Jeff Jampol. This was the first time in his 15-year history that an advertised act did not show at a Paul Edge event, causing immeasurable damage to Paul Edge's reputation.
The email that Jeff Jampol reported as being threatening clearly stated that "As you stated in an email on 3/11/2005 "And, of course, I can NEVER link unlicensed works to The Doors’ site." This indicates that by the act of linking to UTD repeatedly, it must have been cleared. In October, Jeff Jampol refused to clear Unlock The Doors for release, despite having advertised it for 6 months on www.thedoors.com .
Paul Edge is in possession of a number of emails that reveal that anything that was advertised on www.thedoors.com was cleared by Jeff Jampol. This also includes the VH1 show which was advertised on www.thedoors.com.
This is an important and related fact: the VH1 Decades Rock Live show was advertised on The Doors site. There are screenshots to support that, so therefore, the project must have had clearance.
In a ridiculous attempt to silence DJ Paul Edge, Jeff Jampol went to the FBI with a bogus story about viruses and imaginary threats, forcing Paul Edge to remove the website www.jeffjampol.com that would have exposed Jeff Jampol to a global audience. Paul Edge is holding the many emails and IM conversations that can reveal the real Jeff Jampol. This is the man who is managing The Doors.
Paul Edge has refrained from any legal action. His position is that he is committed to The Doors and believes that any further legal action would have a devastating effect on their legacy. However, Paul Edge is now waiting for a response from The Doors as to how they intend to rectify the immense wrong that has been committed against him, his career and his family before considering what his next step should be.
Paul Edge has remained tight lipped about this whole affair, instead releasing the following statement "My belief in the music of The Doors to effect social change remains unswerving, my respect for Ray, Robby, John and Jim for the incredible music they produced is still at the highest level. The intimidation of myself and indirectly my family is horrendous, however I must believe that in the end the truth will come out and justice will be done. It is ironic that I am being silenced by the same man who has been pivotal in silencing D21C, irrespective of his claims to the contrary. I have an email where he, for example, offers me an ultimatum between the then-D21C and The Doors, a threat I refused to be intimidated by; his claims made on many occasions to be purely an observer are yet another example of his many lies. I have given my word to Ray Manzarek that I will not embark upon legal action, and whilst this was given prior to the FBI contacting me, I am refusing all advice given to me by my attorneys and doing my utmost to honour that word. After all the mental, emotional, and financial stress this man has subjected me and my family to, all carried out in the name of The Doors, my resolve is being severely tested.
This is not about money, it is about the legacy of a truly great band and the words of Jim Morrison. I will not be silenced no matter how much intimidation Jeff Jampol throws my way. It's time to Unlock The Doors again, it's time to let people hear the music again, it's time for the world to hear Jim Morrison again, and I will rely on the moral decency and integrity of Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore and the Morrison Estate to see that the right thing is done. I refuse to believe that they would knowingly facilitate this intimidation and breach of contract"
paul edge is just a disgruntled former Doors employee, The Doors didn't like his remixes & didn't want to buy his poor work so they fired him. Big deal.
I think I remember seeing something to the effect that he got the virus to thedoors.com & is probably responsible for it this time. If he has a genuine grievance over services with The Doors he needs to go to court or mediation. If he doesn't want to do that I would surmise it's because he deosn't have a case and he knows it.

John Densmore's Forum is working as of today on Doors.com. The LL is still down. I think Ray must be desperate for remixes. They need something new. A new story says Jeff Martin got a call asking him to be in Doors of the 21st century. Ray must have called, Jeff Martin turned him down. I have never heard this guy. Is there any of his stuff posted in the folders in the archive?
Jeff Martin Was Asked To Join The Doors
by Tim Cashmere
June 30 2006
Former Tea Party front man Jeff Martin revealed he was asked to join the Doors of the 21st Century.
He told Undercover “I was the first person they called.” After making a crack at the comparisons to the late Doors singer, Jim Morrison, Martin has had to endure for his entire professional career.
“It was pretty bad seeing Ian Astbury dancing around like that, but I think that’s what he wanted, you know?”
The Doors of the 21st Century featured original Doors members Ray Manzarek and Robbie Kreiger with former Cult frontman Ian Astbury on vocals.
