Chicago Coliseum 10th May 1968The Doors Chicago debut. Jim Morrison determined to leave his mark plays a blinder and baits the crowd to a fever pitch causing a near, but not quite, riot. Read the review by Robb Baker who had been scathingly critical of the band in the past but grew to appreciate them. According to On The Road one fan takes a dive off the balcony into the crowd and survives unharmed with a tale to bore his grandkids 50 odd years later. 28-4-1968 5-5-1968 10-5-1968 13-5-1968 Chicago Tribune IL Chicago Coliseum 3rd November 1968 27-10-1968 4-11-1968 7-11-1968 8-11-1968 Chicago Tribune IL

Chicago Auditorium Theatre 14th June 1969This is the bands first concert since Miami. Who the Hell these people are is unknown. I know the band had went through a rough patch but if they walked on stage looking like this the crowd would shit themselves. 16-6-1969 Chicago Tribune

Chicago Auditorium Theatre 15th February 1970 16-2-1970 Chicago Tribune 28-2-1970 Billboard Magazine ## Billboard get the date mixed up with the Cleveland show the night before, February 14th, that was a next day encore performance advertised on the day only. We know this review is of the Chicago gig as they play 2 sets there and only ONE in Cleveland.

Chicago Aragon Ballroom 21st July 1972The first night of the bands final tour opened in Ray Manzarek's home city. Broadcast Live by WGLD-FM and is an easily available Bootleg of a very good performance. "The opening night of what is to be The Doors final tour is a lively show delivered with some praiseworthy musicianship from the entire band. Manzarek frequently makes comments about how good it is to be home in Chicago and his high spirits are contagious. They open with a bustling version of 'In The Eye Of The Sun' and conclude with an up tempo encore of 'Light My Fire' which features a rock-steady beat and swells with some fine jazz-flavoured instrumentation." Doors On The Road An early draught, in Rolling Stone, of the poster for what would become the bands last ever tour. NB# Interesting as before the tour actually began several dates were rearranged or cancelled altogether. Chicago is not mentioned as the poster came out after that performance. Michigan Palace, Detroit was on the 3rd not 4th September with the Erie Canal Soda Pop Festival appearance replacing that date on the 4th. The Doors show there was eventually cancelled as the festival descends into chaos. See newdoorstalk.proboards.com/thread/68/doors-last-tour-1972
