Too many Doors fans ignore the post Jim albums but there is truly a lot of good stuff there and one or two that stand up with any Doors music. True there is a lot of crap as well but whats your view....nominate one of the above or speak up for your own personal fave....

there is a new message from the Doors manager on the Lizard Lounge saying they are gonna be re-releasing a load of Doors stuff (again!) including every Doors studio album! so I asked if that includes Other Voices and Full Circle? the answer was no! well not yet anyway! so that is not every Doors studio album then! ;D

So he said that OV and FC are not part of 'every Doors album'....so how pray will an album of 50% of the band be part of The Doors albums? They cannot even recognise these albums exsistence on The Doors site.....even Ray (of all people) has a nice couple of pages in his discography on Raymanzarek.com. Translate 'not yet anyway' as 'never'...they can't make a buck out of those albums so will just carry on with the same old policy...best ofs, samplers and the six Doors albums with an odd out-take to make those that already own them buy them again.... New face same old greed...to quote The Who...'meet the NEW boss same as the OLD boss'... bunch of crooks as far as I am concerned....

'They' say lots of things mate but 'they' are liars as we have seen this last few years.... They will NEVER release Other Voices and Full Circle because they only want to release stuff with Jims mug on it as Jim's mug sells..... Imagine doing a Doors best of with Ray or Robbys face on it?
If Jims involved it sells if not it won't.....

If Jims involved it sells if not it won't..... it should not be about the money but about the fans.. aint that the motivation to begin a project like bmr? to bad it aint always about fans, on the other hand you need money to make those albums...

Its a shame because i really dig both the post-morrison albums, and are much a part of the discography as the other six. Say what you wish about a D21C album but the post morrison albums are defintely the Doors. By not releasing these two the people up top are saying without Jim there are no Doors, which simply isn't true

Maybe if they snuck em into a boxed set you know? The "complete" studio recordings should have included OV and FC. And even american prayer.
THe Led Zeppelin complete studio thing has 8 or 9 CD's and it costs the same. It woulda cost them an extra 20 cents per unit to produce 2 more discs.
So its not even about sales. Why would including those have made it sell any less? People would still have gotten all the Jim they wanted and MORE.
I rather think they'd pretend there were only ever 6 albums and when Jim died that was the end. That way they can maintain the "Jim = The Doors" mentality and use his still compelling personality to sell records to people who arent as concerned with simply good music.

As a guitarist alone I have to love most of both albums. Theres alot of great guitar playing that rivals and excells alot of Robbies earlier stuff.

I have both of these releases in album form. I believe I have listened to these albums twice since they were purchased over 30 years ago. It's not the music which is good, its Ray's voice that I can't stand to listen too. I can't even stand to hear him sing as a solo on bootlegs. Robby is not much better in the vocal department.
By all means Doors management should release these two albums as there seems to be an interest from some fans make a purchase. I for one, would not buy either of these releases, preferring to stick to the albums that I have so I can say, "yes I did listen to them but I don't care for the vocals."

I agree. I prefer Robby myself. You should make a CD of just the Robbie tracks. I have mp3's available for download (sourced from my LP's) Mosquito is a great mostly instrumental. I'd even include Verdillac too cause Rays vocal is really subdued.. Robbies harmony makes it alot better. www.doorsinnercircle.net/Doors%20Music/Ian's%20Stuff/

I prolly wouldnt have liked him as much as I do if it werent for Absolutely Live being one of the first albums I got by them. After the first couple listens I thought...... "hmmmm... Jim sounds really different on that one...... it has to be one of the other guys singin or somthin"
So I scrutinized the cover and there it says "Ray Vocals on "Close To You"... Oh... cool then. :-P Plus the fact that I always tend to have 3 person bands with one of us singing. I feel more like thats the way a band should be. The 3 member doors I just feel like I can personally identify with.. and people who sing and play complicated stuff at the same time really have my respect.
