Its been one of the most eagely anticipated moments in modern Doors History as fans all around the world awaited the moment when this 'plethora of out-takes' would be revealed to the Doors world. The same 'plethora of out-takes' that saw Bright Midnight Records 'put on hiatus' (for that read scrapped) as the management promised a stand alone disc (or discs) of out-takes that was gonna 'knock our socks off' (thier words) .....well its finally been announced by the clown that masquerades as Doors manager and the farce that has so far ensued this announcement shows that the wait was certainly not worth the fuss..... "Here's a start......
THIS IS WHAT IS PLANNED, BUT NOT 100% FINALIZED YET, SO DO NOT HOLD US TO THIS!!!
The Doors:
Two different versions (aside from the album version) of Moonlight Drive Indian Summer
Strange Days:
Alternate of People Are Strange Studio dialogue Love Me Two Times (Take 3)
Waiting For The Sun:
Celebration Of The Lizard Adagio In D Not To Touch The Earth (Takes 1, 2 and 5)
The Soft Parade:
Touch Me studio dialogue Touch Me (Take 3) Whiskey, Mystics & Men Whiskey, Mystics & Men alternate version Who Scared You Push Push
Morrison Hotel:
Blues With Lonnie Mack Roadhouse Talking Blues Queen Of The Highway (jazz version) Queen Of The Highway alternate (no Jim) Various takes of Roadhouse Blues Dirty Roadhouse Spy In The House Of Love (jazz version) Peace Frog studio dialogue
LA Woman:
You Need Meat Orange County Suite
Thanks - Jeff Jeff Jampol The Doors Music Co. Los Angeles, CA "The Doors: Two different versions (aside from the album version) of Moonlight Drive Indian SummerHow underwhelming.....Indian Summer is a fascinating little number but we already had (I presume) one of the versions of MD on the box set.....surely the other one is not the 1965 demo? Strange Days:
Alternate of People Are Strange Studio dialogue Love Me Two Times (Take 3)interesting but hardly earth shattering..... Waiting For The Sun:
Celebration Of The Lizard Adagio In D Not To Touch The Earth (Takes 1, 2 and 5)COTL is the same bootleg version the Doors swiped for the Legacy album and tarted up......this explains why they dumped it from that disgusting Legacy rip off..... NTTE 3 takes....once more ...interesting...thats all.... And thats Adagio in G Minor you cretin and reading some of this dick heads comments a fucking monkey could do a better job than this Jampol idiot! The Soft Parade:
Touch Me studio dialogue Touch Me (Take 3) Whiskey, Mystics & Men Whiskey, Mystics & Men alternate version Who Scared You Push PushPush Push has been available free for years now, WM&M has already been relased on the box set.....an alternate version...interesting....WSY is a brilliant Doors track lets hope these morons don't miss a verse out again like the last time. Been released three times already. hardly anything worth breaking the bank for. Morrison Hotel:
Blues With Lonnie Mack Roadhouse Talking Blues Queen Of The Highway (jazz version) Queen Of The Highway alternate (no Jim) Various takes of Roadhouse Blues Dirty Roadhouse Spy In The House Of Love (jazz version) Peace Frog studio dialogueThe Lonnie mack blues track is decent but has been on bootlegs for years now in both a short and full 7 minute odd version....the rest is old news....good version of the Spy....but it can be got free easily enough. QOTH...box set and the instrumental is easily available as is some of the RB stuff.... LA Woman:
You Need Meat Orange County SuiteEasily the biggest dissapointment as LAW is one I thought would have been filled with extras.....this is a joke..... It seems that due to public outcry on the LL that the partially recorded version of Paris Blues (Queen Of the Magazines) will find a place on the LAW disc and also for some reason the Lonnie Mack blues track will NOT be included. To be perfectly brutally honest this is the biggest pile of 'pony and trap' I have seen touted by Doors management in the long time I been a Doors fan.........the people who are gonna fork out the huge sum to buy this overpriced revamp of all the Morrison/Doors albums will already have decent versions of this stuff. No takes of Ray filling in for Jim (such as the WTMO track) no chance to hear the two versions of The End Rothchild used to get his take......nothing from the demos Krieger has that gave us Hyacinth House.......9 months in the making and TSP gave us ONE take of Touch Me? ? It's truly unbelievable that the lies and distortions over the last few years with regards to these out takes have finally been revealed as (to quote Jim) a buncha bullshit! Pre jampol/post jampol same old bollocks....another money grubbing grab for our wallets with a less than value for money overpriced box with a few scraps that have been available for years.....yes it may well sound nice but The Doors sounded OK to me when I was listening to the vinyl..... Audiophiles may laud this as some great release but for the great mass of Doors fans its another dissapointment to rank high with the many dissapointments that have been the mark of The Doors in the 21st century......BMR started as a bright new dawn and ended up as just another shitty day in the life of the greed, hypocrisy and downright lies that defines The Doors over the last few years....... Comments anyone???

Here is else something Jockstrap Jampol said on the LL-
"Doorsmanagement Yesterday, 10:03 AM Post #91

Just wanted to clarify and pinpoint a bit....
Originally, this Box Set was a compenium of the six studio albums done by The Doors with Morrison, all remixed in 5.1, a new stereo "40th Anniversary" mix done by Bruce Botnick, the original mixer, a high-resolution stereo mix (for all you audiophiles out there, including ME!), AND outtakes and alternates from those albums.
As we went through the outtakes, the guys and Botnick wanted to keep it pure, and, as some of you surmised, just include stuff that was complete, from these studio sessions, and would add some depth, history and light to what the world already has, and knows.
It's difficult to cull through and resurrect worthy inclusions following thses guidelines, but we have done our best, using the boundaries of trying to highlight the records themselves, and not start throwing in rare, demo, home-recorded or snippet stuff.
HOWEVER.....a lot of the stuff you guys have been discussing has given me some ideas, and it seems that maybe it'd be a cool project to resurrect the "outtakes and rarities" disc that Sugerman had been originally planning some years ago. What I'm thinking is that we'll conduct a poll here, you guys weigh in, help educate me, and then I can talk to the band and see what we can compile, borrow, cull together, source and pull from the archives as well. It seems to me that this type of project should stand on its own, and the Box Set should remain kinda "pure", and mainstream, to coin a phrase.
We're gonna try and repair "Paris Blues" and include it, after reading all your comments, and I have spoken to most of the band and they support this. I'll speak to the rest of the folks, and see if we can get it in on time. It MAY have to be a "hidden track" or on CD only, as it will not fit on the DVDs nor do we have multitracks to mix it properly, so, stand by, and if we can McGyver this, you got it! But....PLEASE do not give us grief if it's not doable, though we'll try.
Let's start discussing the "Rarities & Outtakes" project in a month or two - I have to concentrate on finishing the Box Set, the book, and the documentary for now.
Also, Boston, Pittsburgh, a couple of other '70 shows and, if we can clear several hurdles, The Matrix, are still on the boards for the future, starting in '07.
I appreciate all of your comments, your input, and your wishes. We are running out of time on the Box Set, so Paris Blues is probably all we'll have time for, but in all likelihood, most of the other suggestions I've heard may be better served by a stand-alone "Rarities & Outtakes" CD anyway!

'As we went through the outtakes, the guys and Botnick wanted to keep it pure, and, as some of you surmised, just include stuff that was complete, from these studio sessions, and would add some depth, history and light to what the world already has, and knows.'I reiterate my earlier point....a fucking chimp could run the show better..... Now its gonna be down to the select few on the LL to decide what can and cannot go on this out-take disc they told a pack of lies about a few years ago to cover up the fact BMR was a disaster due to mismanagement (can't blame Jampol for that one though) and incompetence. Why make a big deal out of mentioning these things when they have not got a clue what they are doing.......the matrix was the same....big announcement....then tiny mention that they had fucked up and hopefully we all forget about it........ well you are shit outta luck on that as we Doors fans have good and long memories....... the whole sorry bunch should be sacked and people who at least have a sense of Doors History put in charge...... It should be a labour of love not a grubby way to screw a few more bucks out of Doors fans....... I once"Heard" the dirty RHB but the quality was soo awful, could not make any of it out!!. Yeah its pretty awful but its a bit of Doors History which is what this should be about......who cares about quality who cares if its incomplete.......if it were me I would compile a disc that had a sense of History with liner notes explaining as much information as could be found about each track and its place in that History with comments from those who were there. All this box set is gonna be is a way to make a buck....same as Legacy when those crooks added COTL to get more fans to buy it......the lies surrounding this release that have abounded both in the Sugerman and Jampol Doors eras are staggering and now we see it for what it is....a joke!

'HOWEVER.....a lot of the stuff you guys have been discussing has given me some ideas' Dear God!....it's not like this stuff being discussed is something NEW......I been involved in discussions on various Doors forums including LL about this shit for bloody years.....where is the leadership?...where is the vision?........where is the sense of History?....where is the sense of doing this as a priviledge and a way to say thank you to fans whether they been there for decades or just a few months for their support and NOT as a awy to screw a buck outta people.......Oh for someone who sees this as something to take pride in and something to strive to release because its the History of the greatest rock band ever....... The Doors world is crying out for someone with a bit of humility who can see that archiving the music of the Doors and compiling it for release to fans is something to hold as an honour that should be treated with integrity and veracity and honesty. BMR was a wonderful idea but was left to idiots to destroy with incompetence and greed.....so far I see nothing that gives me any hope at all that anything in The Doors world has changed.....and that is a tragedy........

2 versions of Moonlight Drive? Probably the same demos that were in the box set in 97, you're right about Celebration, Not To Touch The Earth alternate takes or cut-outs from celebration. It's amazing that The Doors think so little of the intelligence of their fans. When I first became a fan in the 80's there was a dearth of materials out there anything seemed cool, but 25 years later and all they want to do is recycle everything say it's a limited edition or the best we can get, or a new remix of the stuff.
& Jeff's new bright idea is to have a rarities & outtakes that Danny wanted to do, so now he's going to have a poll? Wasn't that his last bright idea to have a poll to see what people wanted from BMR or A or whatever it is?? Keep thinking of polls jeffy, not to hard to set them on a message board. How about one like how stupid do The Doors think their fans are? A) VERY B) SOMEWHAT C) ABSOLUTE MORONS

It IS Queen Of The Magazines .....and for me its the most over rated piece of Doors trivia that there is.....I think the lyric got posted on LL by someone like Porshe and it just make a (indirect or direct I am not sure) reference to Paris in the lyric somewhere... Of course I wanna hear it like everyone else but I would venture to bet that once it makes its public bow 99% of those who cried out for it say....'is that IT?' and stop talking about it.......... I think its just a red herring and wil get used to get people of managements back. It's not Paris Blues I want to hear its work ups of songs and music by the band (with or without Jim) the two versions of The End that became one.......surely there are the rehearsals from LA Woman that The Doors recorded and presented to Paul Rothchild and surely there are more genuine out takes from at least the last four albums as well as stuff from Full Circle & Other Voices........... It's very hard to believe that this piss poor haul is all these idiots have and if it is then they should be ashamed to even admit to it.........

It sucks. I want to hear all those takes of COTL. Jampol denies they exist just like he denies that Build Me a Woman Exists, Alternate Take of Shaman's Blues exists, Who Do You Love. He is either blatantly lying to cover his lazy ass or he is mentally retarded. That Should be a poll Doors Management is a) a liar trying to cover himself b) a retard c) all of the above and much much more.
Peace

The more I read about this so called debate on the official forum the more angry and depressed I get with it.....prolly best to stop reading it then? We were told during the Sugerman era that bright Midnight records was being put on hiatus because a 'plethora' (definition from Websters dictionary: EXCESS, SUPERFLUITY; also : PROFUSION, ABUNDANCE) of studio out-takes had been unearthed. We were told that they would be released as part of a box set that was going to include all the Morrison era studio albums along with the out-takes that would be placed on a disc to replace essential rarities in the old cube set. Also we were told that a stand alone out-take disc would be released six months later for those who already owned the cube and did not want to buy it again. We were assured that this release would knock our socks off. We were told a pack of utter lies as no such release ever happened and BMR was quietly suffocated and forgotten about under a blanket of more lies and deceit. Now we find that the plethora of out-takes that was gonna knock our socks off was nothing of the sort. And the lies continue..... Doors managemnet do not actually seem to have the slightest clue what they actually possess and do not even seem to be aware of the correct titles of what they have or when and where these out takes were recorded. This is unacceptable after so long archiving Doors material which was the reason we were given for it taking so long for BMR to become BMA............more lies as Sugerman made a point of telling us that the archiving process was complete then it was archived again during the start of the Jampol era to allow more time to be eaten up to cover the total incompetence of Doors management during both Sugerman and Jampol eras. At least Danny Sugerman was 'one of us'....a Doors fan through and through........the current incumbent seems to have been found hanging around on a street corner and given a job for a laff as his knowledge of The Doors is probably slightly less than Tony Blairs............ Why do these people not have a complete inventory of ALL the material in thier archive and information as to when and where it was recorded...........there is not ONE reason in the world why this should not be the case.....they have been att it six years......it's a rock band for God's sake ....they are not translating The Dead Sea Scrolls............ The questions that should be asked should go to the heart of what exactly is the agenda of these people....why should they withold information and spread dissinformation??? At first glance there seems no reason at all to do this so the inference would be that they are telling the truth and the piss poor hoard we have been presented with is simply a result of thier incompetence and the dearth of Doors material anyway. But look deeper....and one must always look deeper with these people and we see a deliberate attempt to hold back material from Doors fans so they can trumpet another 'lost' tape or 'lost' track.......they did this with COTL they did this with Woman Is A devil....thier record speaks for itself........ Theya re not trustworthy at all and the performance on the LL debate thread shows just how untrustworthy the current crop of Doors management really is.... #When getting into difficulty....have a poll...and give the detractors the job of setting the next agenda.....shuts them up for a few months and buys time to stumble from the latest incompetent disater to the next......... These people are not dumb...liars, incompetent and crooks yes....but they are crafty enough to keep throwing red herrings at fans with polls and useless promises and as long as they 'talk' to the fans they are seen to be doing a job.......... I have said it many times but its days like this that i wish I had actually liked the Beatles in 1962.......

Doors Management has been pretty pathetic. Some one hacked into the Doors messageboard this morning! Wow, That is so funny. I have been getting an error message when I try the LL, S G, and JD's board. It says "Sorry, the message boards are down for maintenance, please check back soon." What did you see this morning when you logged on?

This whole situation has now descended into the realms of utter farce......... Now the out take disc is gonna be a stand alone disc picked by a bunch of jampols ass kissers on the LL.....this bloke should be sacked as Doors manager.....he has not a clue what they have in the Doors vaults has no idea how to present the material other than ask a handful of fans and run a stupid poll to buy him time..... He lacks vision, has no sense of Historical perspective, and does not even have a basic knowledge of the band and its History......... He turns round and says that one of the big ideas he has is to release The End in all its glory with the uncut version then looks an idiot when a fan points out that this has already been done several time .............what chance have Doors fans got of ever hearing the bands History when the fool in charge cannot even come up with a simple timetable and a simple vision as to how these releases should be handled....... Any Doors fan could do his job 10000% better in fact a bloody chimp could do a better job........its bad enough this bloke is a bloody liar but he is also a bloody idiot....... And this is what BMR was dumped in the trash can for..... damn disgrace...........

It's very sad i still dont understand why he included Indian Summer as an outtake when it was released on Morrison Hotel or why he called adagio in G minor, adagio in D or why he took Dirty Roadhouse Blues off the boxset instead of push push or cotl or why no Paris Blues or why no studios of BMAW, Who Do You Love, Someday Soon.
It is a travesty. I want to stop going to the official board but it is far more active than this one.

Indian Summer is on The Doors album because it was among the first tracks the band recorded in 1966 so is indeed an out-take from the debut album. They used the track for MH and added new stuff to the original version. He called it D instead of G because he is a knowfuckall idiot........ I think myself that paris Blues is over rated....there are far better things waiting to be heard than that......all it is is Queen Of The magazines with a reference to France.......LAW DVD showed that there is good stuff there....the extra verse to COTL and the rumour that Away In India was recorded as part of ROTS........... I cannot understand why they are doing such a half assed job here....unless they plan more lucrative ideas later....... This board would be more active if the members got off thier arces and made it so............sadly something beyond my powers.........the LL has the numbers (don't get me wrong as I am a fan of the LL....just wish it was run for the fans) we don't.......the info here is damn good but nobody seems to be arced enough to give a shit...sad really....
