Why isn't Universal Mind on this poll? I actually meant to put Universal Mind on instead of Love Hides but for some inexplicable reason I typed Love Hides....then I put the poll up and once up the admin functions won't let us change the poll choices....sorry!! I saw my mistake as soon as it came up but could not do anything about it....

This is a poll of some really hard choices. Most of the songs on absolutely Live I like & really dig them when I hear them. Someday Soon which I don't get to hear that often I find interesting both lyrically & musically but think maybe it needed a little work, so for me it is Who Scared You? I really like the wordplay Jim uses & the music is a perfect match & even different from usual Doors fare, if that is indeed from the Soft Parade sessions they could've bumped like Runnin' Blue for Who Scared You?

I don't know love hides. Where is that to be found? Quite common part of the 70s medleys on Doors sets...best version is on the Absolutely Live album.....

Yeah, I like that too, I agree earlier with Universal mind-that's another goody that should've been mentioned.

Yeah, I like that too, I agree earlier with Universal mind-that's another goody that should've been mentioned. Makes you wonder if The Doors ever did Universal Mind in the studio? They claim that they never recorded Someday Soon (the version that appears on bootlegs as a studio version is from Seattle 70) and I read that UM was also never done but they also swore blind that COTL did not exist....saying at one stage it was never recorded (even though The Waiting For The Sun songbook documents a studio version being listened to in 1968) later changing that to it was destroyed. Eventually the version that turned up was a common bootleg version cleaned up by Bruce Botnick but they tried to pass it off for a while as a new unheard version. There is more secrecy to The Doors PLC world than the CIA.... Maybe one day we wil find a lot more studio stuff is lying around than we know of. Paris Blues is reportedly in the Doors archive and Morrison Hotel out-takes such as the jazz & instrumental version of The Spy and QOTH are common so its not beyond the realms of possibility that alternate tracks and songs we never even heard of are somewhere in a vault. Who knows. I remember a time The Doors said that nothing at all was left and then BMR appeared.....with its dozen or more gigs... Maybe that out-take disc they promised may one day turn up...
