MORRISON PLEADS INNOCENT HERE
Rock singer Jim Morrison pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Dade Criminal Court today on a host of charges stemming from a wild performance at Dinner Key Auditorium here last March 1.
Morrison, vocalist with The Doors and known as “The King Of Orgasmic Rock,” is charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, indecent exposure, open profanity and drunkenness.
The twenty-five year old singer flew in from Los Angeles to appear today. He gave his address to the court of the clerk as 8512 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles.
Attired in a tan suede jacket with sheepskin lining, Morrison looked like a ranch hadn in search of a barber. His brown, curly, shoulder length hair was neatly combed.
He was clean shaven in contrast to his usual singing appearance with a scraggly beard. He wore a navy blue shirt with striped blue and white pants that dropped over brown boots.
An unidentified friend accompanying Morrison was far more flamboyant attired in tapestry coat and rust colored bell bottoms.
Defense attorney, Robert Josefsberg told Judge Murray Goodman that he didn’t want to decide today on waiving a jury trial. But a jury trial appeared inevitable.
