Obviously this is not asking you which album you like best as nobody would choose Other Voices over LA Woman but both these albums see a 40th anniversarry and both albums have a story to tell.
LA Woman is Jim's swansong and a might powerful swansong it was. Other Voices was being conceived even as Jim left for Europe and was to be the next chapter in The Doors story without the lead singer.
Both albums have a lot of good music and it is not mad to say that both feature some strong vocals.
Of course only the strangest of Doors fan would favour Other Voices over LA Woman but that is not the purpose of the thread.
It is simply to highlight the good about both albums and examine any failings they might have.
A 40 year retrospect of two completely different Doors.
Released in UK July 9th a week after Jim Morrison died.
Released in US April 15th.
Released Late October 1971 in UK and presumably earlier that month in the US.
So what do any of you have to say?
LA Woman is something I am sure most of you have knowledge of but Other Voices may be a mystery to you.
So here are a few helpful links to YouTube
Give this stuff the benefit of a listen and then lets hear from you with regard to both albums.
