Jochen (JM) sent me this email regarding doors fan that got involved in a pretty nasty accident...but it ends well. Here it is....
[glow=red,2,300]Jörg of Saarbrücken is an ordinary Doors fan. I'll never forget the moment that I heard he had been hit by a 40 ton truck as he was crossing/walking the road.
I think everyone can imagine what that means… It just was a wonder he had survived at all!
The first time I met Jörg face to face was in Illingen. I was very happy to see that he was well again. But back to the crash: Right after the accident I sent emails all over the world, asking everyone in the Doors family to send 'Get-Well-Soon-Doors
-e-mails’ to Jörg.
But I never imagined that it would be that huge feedback! Much to my surprise even Joe Russo and Darryl read sent autographed items to Jörg. I'm getting to the point now: Jörg’s brother Ralph and his wife Chris told me in Illingen that they didn't think too much of Internet. But no money in the world would have gotten Jörg well again. They were surprised to see what a positive force something as trivial as a hobby can be. So-even if people try to deny it, there definitely is a great Doors family in the world. – BIG TIMES-
It may appear to be very private to you: but I want to stress that the whole world may know that when Jörg gave me this wonderful present in Illingen I had tears in my eyes. I had never expected a present, let alone something as wonderful as that. It blew me away, thanks Jörg!
Hi Jochen!
It had to be something special, something that would make you happy. Since you were the driving force behind all the good I received after my accident.
When I had decided it had to be a painting, I was contemplating what had to be in the picture. I thought about it for a long time. I was sure that meeting Ray Manzarek was a special moment in your life.
When I was browsing your book again I stumbled upon the photo of you and Ray, certainly one of my favorites. It is printed on page 106 and then I knew for sure that it had to be that one.
I had my accident on June, 10th. In Europe, that is written as „10.6“.
Thanks for everything, I hope you like it.
