Kaleidoscope - Hollywood, CA 11th April 1968 "Superball at the Kaleidoscope"
This was the 2nd benefit concert for FM DJ's who worked for KPPC Pasadena and KMPX in San Francisco on strike for better salaries and the right to make their own playlist for their shows. This was an attempt to showcase the new Rock music that was emerging in LA & San Francisco. They received support from a lot of people in the industry especially the groups who would benefit from their music being played on these shows.

The Doors headline and give a live debut to their new theatre piece "the Celebration of the Lizard" which they had been recording at TTG Studio in Hollywood but had failed to get it enough together to fit the 3rd LPs ridiculously short deadline. It apparently left the audience too stunned to clap. Either that or they thought it was crap

"That's the trouble with reality!.... it's taken far too seriously! I do hope God is good to me and Santa Claus to the children! Celebrate...this parties over...I'm going home!"
