Ray was wrong to do in what he said at the trial under oath about the buick situatuon imo. i have said that before alex!!. Stone was making a film about a REAL person/group, it was not a fictional film(well, then again, under stone......) he had imo an obligation to portray the man with objectivity. And he did not

R$ay had an obligation to answer the question he was asked truthfully....he chose to lie....one of them is a Hollywood director responsible for making a movie that make s a profit for its investors and the other was Jims best friend once..... Who is worse? Braveheart was a film about a REAL person but the director chose to tell a story that was at worse a pack of lies and at best a total fantasy but that did not stop YOU Scots taking it to heart as if it was some kind of historical document...the word hypocrite springs to mind....

i dont think we can be too fussed at the movie having bullshit in it. it was a hollywood creation man, nowt from them is true, like bush! but it does still bring the doors to peoples attention and interested in jim's character.

Hell, It was stones pic that got me into the doors as well!!. True enough but I am not a hypocrite...you attack Stone endlessly but never bring up Sugerman and Manzareks antics in thier books and interviews and in R$ays case under oath. Stone made a film that is full of flaws but is meant to be and IS entertaining. The other two lie and twist Morrisons myth to suit thier own agenda. You still have not answered the question I asked. Who is worse Stone who made a piece of entertainment or the other two who manipulate history to line thier pockets.

Ray commited the worse crime when you put it like that as he did lie under oath when he did have the chance to be honest about that situation as what he said about the whole buick thing as reported on ida's site is total BS, i didnt read what he said in court in LMF.
I dont know how he got off with it as he did lie imo.

Well then stop parrotting R$ays stupid mantra and accept the fact that there are people in The Doors world have done a lot worse to Jim Morrison than Olly Stone...

Val Kilmer did give a wonderful portrayal of Jim. The first time I saw the movie, I was totally blown away by how much he looked and sounded like Jim. The movie was good in that it showed Jim as his alter ego, Jimbo. But, I think we could have done without characters like Billy Idol. Who or what the hell was he supposed to be? I think they should have broken his other leg and both arms for the horrible performance he gave. Ugh!!!

Don't be hard on Billy for that.
Maybe for the L.A. Woman cover he did.

I enjoyed it, very similar to the book, but like everything else, people want to see the dark side--what happened away from the public. Of course with Jim, everything he did was public cause he was controversial, but still a great movie.

I can't help it. His performance was laughable! ;D Got to agree with DanceOnFire there Jim! It seemed like they tried to get some celebs (or ex celebs) in the movie.....Bonnie Bramlett was the barmaid in the bar scene, Bil Graham was the New Haven promoter, Wes Studi made a tiny cameo at the start, but the most useless and pointless individual in the whole film was Idol. Jim hung out with some deadbeats true but Idols loser of a character was so unbelievably BAD! His acting nearly as poor as his singing.....at least his pal Dog was funny.....Idols Cat was a waste of the few minutes of the lives of everyone who participated in the filming of it...
