Who did jim actually do duets with? i recall he did with van morrison, jimi hendrix. and there is the jim and john lee hooker rock house blues on stoned immaculate, but did this actually happen? i have seen a photo of them to sining together.

Well it cannot really be said that Jim did a duet with hendrix as all it amounted to was Jim crawling round the floor drunk as a skunk grabbing Jimis legs and sniffing his crotch whilst endlessly repeating 'fuck her in the ass'....not exactly jazz improv.....Hendrix should have smacked Jim in the gob and laid him out. Jim sat in with a few bands including Canned Heat at The Hump in Miami in summer 1970 and some house band once at a club he was attending with Frank L.... He NEVER did a duet with John Lee Hooker ...that was just a studio one for the SI album......

a ha! well i sort of meant that with hendrix LOL you really wouldnt have blamed hendrix if he did not jim out! thanks for the info dude

In June 1969 Jim joined a band at The Roach club in New Orleans singing four songs including Little Red Rooster and Crawling King Snake. Nobody knows for sure who it was but local bands White Clover and Deacon John & The Electric Soul Band have been in the frame. There are a few other instances where Jim joined bands on stage and its likely he did this on a regular basis in LA during the bands career.
