I think he shoulda expirimented more with harmony vocals more. What little he did was pretty damn good. (parts of hyacynth house)
Thing is with that and a few others it just seems like.. he double tracked the vocal.. and the second time around happened to sing it different and it harmonized. I dont think it was planned the way.
I'm pretty sure most if not all of the harmonizing (except stright up double tracked stuff) was Ray on the first album.
The Soft Parade was a bit excessive lol

Maybe in the ballady type tracks but not the more general Doors tracks.....I liked the live shows where Ray supported Jim's vocal such as in the early days of BOT when Jim was perhaps not as confident but am not one who would have liked to see too many harmony vocals in Doors stuff. The post Jim albums used that tool in the songs and it was decent enough for them but I don't feel it would have worked on Doors albums too much. But it would be interesting to hear an out-take with Jim harmonising with himself or even Ray chipping in....

In music to harmonize is the act of two or more notes in an octave playing in unison that fall on the same scale and resonate without dissonance. This is also known as a "chord" on some instruments.
