‘Doors’ Thrill Their Fans At The Coliseum
The latest thing rock – love rock – hit the Dane County Coliseum Friday night in the form of “The Doors” - a group which follows in the grand tradition of the Jefferson Airplane and others.
Love rock purports to express love, although the meaning was interpreted by The Doors and in particular Jim Morrison, lead vocalist, was somewhat obscured.
To illustrate: At one point during “Light My Fire,” Morrison destroys his microphone.
The four rock musicians from the Los Angeles area however kept the young rock devotees who half filled the Coliseum thrilled.
He began with “Back Door Man” and mixed poetry and wails along with his screaming singing. During “The End,” he reached his fans with his screech, “We want the world and we want it now.”
END.
