Oh, Not Another Party at Jim's !
By Steve Hochman
November 28, 1993
Jim Morrison would have been 50 on Dec. 8, and while the surviving members of the Doors plan only a low-key observation (they'll be at KCET-TV studios hosting a pledge-drive showing of a film about the band), there will be a big celebration of the Lizard King in Paris.
A gathering is planned at the Pere-Lachaise Cemetery, where Morrison is buried, moving later to the Beau Treillis restaurant (he was a regular there before he died on July 3, 1971). There will be a photo exhibit featuring shots of Morrison and screenings of two of his films, "Feast of Friends" and "HWY."
If you can't make this one, don't figure on making up for it on Morrison's 60th. Annoyed by the constant parade of Morrison fans and their graffiti and litter, families of others buried at the famed resting place--which includes Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde and Honore de Balzac among its permanent guests--recently won a lawsuit to have Morrison's remains moved out by 2001.articles.latimes.com/1993-11-28/entertainment/ca-61611_1_jim-morrison
