newdoorstalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=calendarview&thread=439is this jim? if it would be him, why is he making a radio advert for a magazine? i think i can reproduce jim's voice as well in my homestudio, and it aint to hard to do it. where there special reasons for him to do it? i'd like to hear the tape for the anti speed(amfetamin) advert, wich he did great in his way.

I haven't been able to find out exactly why Jim did this advert for Cheetah Magazine but in 1967 he was going along with his image being used in many different ways. Certain people were telling him to do this, do that, go see this person, talk to these people, pose for this magazine and instead of saying no, he went along with them. He lived to regret his choices and started rebelling in 1969. At that time he realized that he should never have built his image that way. At this time in 1967 Jim was receptive to different ideas. I think Jim may just have wanted to support an underground magazine and he knew his name would help the cause of the magazine. I think it was in the Jerry Hopkins Rolling Stone interview he'd like to try writing for an underground newspaper. So, may have been his way to support it.

I think it was in the Jerry Hopkins Rolling Stone interview he'd like to try writing for an underground newspaper. So, may have been his way to support it. Zig Zag Magazine - Jim Morrison Interview with John Tobler - Isle Of Wight August 28 1970Jim: What's the name of the magazine you guys put out? John: Zig Zag Jim: I've seen it. I'd like to start a magazine, newspaper thing in L.A. sometime. The trouble is, if you try and do it to sell copies, and get the advertising and all that, then you can't uh……. John: Well, you certainly lose a lot of your enthusiasm when you start getting involved in business hustles. Anyway, wouldn't L.A. be rather a difficult market, with so many publications? Jim: Well, that's it. I would only do it if I could finance it myself, so I wouldn't have to advertise. You know those little magazines, one issue things, the Surrealists and Dadaists used to put out? Manifestos, and all that? John: Yeah, right. newdoorstalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=calendarview&thread=655
