the first song that got me onto the doors. i heard it in a film called the lost boys, it wasnt even the doors playing it! but the song its self made me feel as though i wasnt alone in the world. not the only strange, quiet, shy freak! it also made me feel that it aint me thats strange, but all the other people in the world. they are the strangers. and throughout my life i really have come to find that women seem wicked when your unwanted. People are strange when you're a stranger Faces look ugly when you're alone Women seem wicked when you're unwanted Streets are uneven when you're down
When you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one remembers your name When you're strange When you're strange When you're strange
People are strange when you're a stranger Faces look ugly when you're alone Women seem wicked when you're unwanted Streets are uneven when you're down
When you're strange Faces come out of the rain When you're strange No one remembers your name When you're strange When you're strange When you're strange

Vampires love Jim! I've always said, that's why I think The Doors translate so easily to Goth, Jim was very close to inventing it. But he'll have to settle for inventing punk.

Jim Morrison was feeling a bit down and he went to Robbie Krieger's house, Jim went to a canyon to watch a sunset, and when he came back related the lyric that had come to his mind to Robby who wrote the music.
The lyrics is about Jim's feeling of being alienated. Krieger, The Doors' guitarist, wrote the music. He did his guitar solo in one take.
