I have no idea what this song means. Any help? Most interesting line: The whole world's a savior. What do you think that means?

I always liked that line, because I've always thought it's true, the whole world is a saviour, a little rephrasing of this world is what you make it heaven or hell.

has anyone any idea as to what shamans blues was about? did jim relate it to himself being a shaman figure?
There will never be Another one like you There will never be Another one who can Do the things you do, oh
Will you give another chance? Will you try, little try? Please stop and you remember We were together, anyway, all right
And if you have a certain evenin' You could lend to me I'd give it all right back to you A how it has to be with you I know your moves and your mind And your mind And your mind And your mind And your mind And your mind And your mind
Will you stop and think and wonder? Just what you'll see Out on the train yard Nursin' penitentiary It's gone, I cry out long
Go head, brother
Did you stop it to consider? How it will feel Cold, grinded grizzly bear jaws Hot on your heels
Do you often stop and whisper? It's Saturday's shore The whole world's a savior Who could ever, ever, ever Ever, ever, ever Ask for more?
Do you remember? Will you stop? Will you stop? The pain
And there will never be Another one like you There will never be Another one who can Do the things you do, oh
Will you give another chance? Will you try, little try? Please stop and you remember We were together, anyway, all right
How you must of think and wondered How I must feel Out on the meadows While you run the field I'm alone for you And I cry
The sweat, look at it Optical promise Heh, heh, heh You'll be dead and in hell Before I'm born Sure thing Brides maid The only solution Isn't it amazing?

When I first heard it I didn't like it, but it quickly grew on me, I think it is one of The Doors most interesting songs, it is pretty intricate.
What does it mean? A line by line transcription can only do it a disservice, but at certain times in my life I've those "cold grinding grizzly bears jaws hot on my heels."

I always thought it was about Jim. Sort of him reflecting on his life as Rock Shaman. His relationship to the audience at concerts, the interaction. He talks about the pain he feels. He talks about what the audience sees and feels. And how the audience doesn't understand what he feels or sees. But in the end they were together anyway. I never realize what great lyrics this song has.

The title he chose for the song reflects the period it was recorded in. He liked to be ironic so chose 'shaman' because his audience was looking for sensation when he took the stage now rather than enlightenment. Blues is obvious. By that time he was well and truly betrayed by his band mates and had an insane producer trying to find perfection in every note.

An interesting autobiagraphical song from Jim Morrison possibly reflecting the mood of 1968/1969. A lot had happened by this time to give Morrison a dose of the blues. Perhaps he simply turned his mood into words.
The spoken bit at the end was created by layering various ad-lib segments from Jim Morrison's tracks.
On the CD version, the line "And your mind" is repeated 6 times rather than 4.

"A jazz rock waltz in 6/8 time. Densmore cooks on this one driving the band with his drum shots on the two beat a la Cannonball Adderley's 'Dis Here'. A favourite of mine and John's. I'm in the pocket, Robby wails and Jim is right on top of his very strange, very mystical lyrics. The whole band is in great form. Jazz rock...yeah"Ray ManzarekTHE CANNONBALL ADDERLEY QUINTET, Dis Here (Part 1) www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEnbXVqQ1go&feature=related
