To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Jim's passing what are Jim's finest moments as an artist or performer in your opinion as a Doors fan.
They can be anything at all from any moment in Jim's Morrison's 27 years!
Choose no more than 3 to keep it tough![glow=red,2,300]1[/glow] Going into Sunset Sound or Elektra Studios (nobody knows for sure which one it was) in March 1969 and recording an hour for magic of his poetry with John Haeny. Thankfully the bootleggers got thier hands on it or we would never have heard it! [glow=red,2,300]2[/glow] Showing his contempt for an audience of assholes on his birthday December the 8th 1967 with one of rocks greatest put downs....Rensseler Polytechnic Troy NY .... "If this is Troy. I’m with the Greeks"…The next night he plays New Haven and makes history as the first rock performer to be arrested on stage. Helluva birthday weekend! [glow=red,2,300]3[/glow]Sitting on Dennis Jacobs rooftop in 1965 and imagining a huge rock concert in his head and then having the gumption to do something about it! I would have to sit down and thinkl about this one properly...but i would say, in no particular order.. 1. Jim refusing to change his lyrics on the ed wanker show 2. miami - although a disaster for the doors in a way, and although it was sad that jim got himself in the state he did etc etc it was still good that he got some shit off his chest about how bullshit society is. 3. refusing to give into commercial offers... oh and the time he told wayne "if you book them, they will come"

The publication of The Lords & New Creatures.
Not a favorite per se, but the Miami Trial, which it's too bad he couldn't have stuck around to BEAT.

Top 3 Morrison Moments for me would be:
1. Having the courage after school to pursue his poetry(Art) instead of getting a job. If Jim had not done this, he wouldn't have heard the concert in his head.
2. Doing great performances eventhough there wasn't a lot of people in the audience. I think that shows a great artist.
3. Writing "The End". Incredible song. I have never heard anything like it. Pure magic.
