Please don't tell me what to do 'Cause even if I wanted to I couldn't throw my life away By listening to what you say I'm telling you, ain't nothing you can do to change my way Hey, hey, hey Ain't no way gonna make me think like you do
No matter if the sun or stars say I'm wrong It's just a song of the lonely wandering musician I'm telling you, ain't nothing you can do to change my way No, no, no, no, no Ain't no way gonna make me think like you do
It's just a song of a lonely wandering musician I'm telling you, ain't nothing you can do to change my way Hey, hey, hey Ain't no way Hey, hey, hey Ain't no way Hey, hey, hey Ain't no way

This time Ray maybe having a pop at Morrison with this song. Possibly a coda to Tightrope ride with Ray lamenting life without Jim. 'It's just a song of a lonely wandering musician'Musically one of the best songs on the Other Voices album and a nice tour de force ending like in the old days. All The Doors get to show off their talents with some excellent guitar work and drumming but Ray takes centre stage with a powerfully poignant vocal and some superb piano work which is unlike anything heard on the previous six Doors albums. It's no surprise that Morrison influenced the 7th Doors album as some of the tracks were rehearsed during the LAW phase. Jim rejected some of the OV songs and flat out refused to sing one of them. Wandering Musician a perfect end to that album. Looking back at what once was and looking forward to the future that was very uncertain. A most under rated song from an equally under rated album that deserves better than it got from the band. Wandering Musician The Doors
