From The Book: The Doors By The Doors age 5-6 I graduated from DePaul University and got my bachelor's degree in June 1960 and by September, I was enrolled in the UCLA Law School. I was going to be an attorney. I was going to defend the common man, and as we would say today, I was going to be a liberal attorney. I was going to be Clarence Darrow in Inherit The Wind. I was at UCLA a couple of weeks and said, "This is ridiculous. Who cares?" It was so involved and so silly, with all the cases that you to read, case after case after case, and then do a brief. No way. So I decided that it would be film school for me. A combination of all the arts: photography, acting, writing, and music. The art form of the 20th century. Then, I had a broken love affair at UCLA. I was totally distraught, and I said, "Hey, you know what I can do? I can get my military service out of the way." This was 1962, before Vietnam - the cusp of Vietnam. And then, I thought, I'd come back and get into film school. And the U.S. Army sent me to Thailand. And in Thailand, there's something called a "Thai Stick." I wind up smoking Thai weed with a guy who turns out to be an MP (military police) in the Thai army, in the lushness of the jungle in central Thailand. After serving a year and half, Manzarek and the Army both realized it was a relationship that never should have been entered into in the first place. Ray's captain in Okinawa said to him, "Manzarek, some people are just not meant for military service. You are a rake and a reprobate. Not to mention sexually perverse. We don't need your type in the U.S. Army." Ray was gone in a flash, returning to UCLA and to film school. END. |

We don't need your type in the U.S. Army." Ray was gone in a flash, returning to UCLA and to film school. Makes you wonder what made the captain say Ray was sexually perverse. Considering what went on with soldiers 1000s of miles away from home. I wonder if Ray was bi/homosexual? That would be one reason why they got rid of him. Maybe ole Raybo has a secret he certainly does not want to be out in the wider Doors world which is why there is scant information about his army days. Certainly would explain some of his Morrison worship. Brian Epstein managed the beatles because he wanted to have sex with John maybe Ray makes the beach meeting with Jim sound so like some evangelical event because he was sexually smitten with a lean mean Jim Morrison. Would also explain some of his behaviour afterwards such as not going to Jim's grave in 1972 (his advances were spurned and Jim got fat) and why he spends so much time playing Doors songs with guys dressed in leather trousers. (trying to relive his fantasies about Jim with others) Manzarek does have an unnatural fascination with penises. He talks about Jim's a lot and also was smitten with Iggy Pops. His disturbing stage pronouncement that he would like to stick something up Robby's ass. It all fits. When the US army say you are sexually perverse, especially back in the 60s, they mean you have an unnatural admiration for mens bottoms. That's my bet Ray is gay and fancied the arce off Jim Morrison when he lost weight and became a T Shirt God. Ray in his Highschool Play Cinderella........ This picture makes total sense now. Ray was actually playing Cinderella in this school play. Let's face it we as fans have spent lots of time with unfounded allegations of homosexual activity with regards Jim yet here is a statement crying out for further analysis. If anyone in The Doors was gay then the evidence points to Ray rather than Jim. Fascinating stuff.  |
