The Doors: The Complete Illustrated Lyrics by Danny Sugerman
Danny doing here what he does best documenting bits of Doors history, in this case all the lyrics, in a nice easy on the eye package.
Containing lyrics to all the studio albums except Other Voices/Full Circle (which unfortunate omission contradicts the title) as well the new songs/alternate lyrics that crop up on the live albums.
Danny even transcribes the dirty version of ‘Gloria’ that we would not hear for some time and also prints the unabridged versions of the ‘Absolutely Live’ songs which is cool.
A couple of decent articles add a bit of interest as do the excellent selection of photos some of which were unseen at the time and we basically have the best book of it’s type on the market.
Scorpywag rating. 9/10 almost flawless
