The Doors debut LP had just been released and the band made their first foray into the San Francisco scene appearing for the first of several weekend bookings here during 1967.

Their second appearance is sent sadly awry when Jim decides to go see Casablanca in LA and misses the first show.
He gets there the next day and explains to an exasperated Bill Graham who forgives him. The Grateful Dead headline these shows but fail to turn up on one of these nights leaving The Doors to top the bill.

Billed as '6 Days Of Sound' The Doors play the first 3 dates beginning with Boxing Day on the Tuesday up until Thursday. On the first night Jim pays tribute to Otis Redding, who died earlier that month, he was slated to play on the same bill as The Doors for their Winterland shows.
