Among the fans of Jim Morrison gathered around his grave in Pere Lachaise in Paris today, the vast majority was not born when he was at the height of his glory. But no matter, they would have missed it for the world to honor their idol, who died 40 years ago.

Dressed in T-shirts to his glory, more or less good taste, they s'amoncèlent around the tomb of the legendary singer of The Doors died in Paris July 3, 1971.
Protected by barriers, the tomb is dotted with photos, poems, flowers, candles and other objects. Incense sticks and burn - a sign of devotion that surrounds the character - several minutes long visitors stay silent and deeply collected.
People come and go. All generations are represented, but among the hundred people present, the majority under 40. "I spent half my life thinking about Jim Morrison. It is not only a singer," says David Martin, the Italian region of Treviso.
It came with a dozen friends, all thirty of the singer and fanatical. "We had been there for 30 years (his death). And we will be there for 50 years."
"Nothing is dated. His music, text, messages, everything is present in Jim Morrison," said his companion Vanni della Zanna, who proudly wears a black T-shirt decorated with the face of the idol with the word "03/07/1971-03/07/2011," he had it made for the occasion.
Next to him, Fabio Marcon, who also came from northern Italy, explains that the Doors have given them all "a passion for music," and this point he formed a group, "The Shaman's Blues, "whose repertoire is entirely that of the U.S. group.
Arrived around 11:00, they narrowly missed Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger, former guitarist and keyboardist of The Doors, expected in the evening concert at the Bataclan, and came around the tomb at 10:30.
"It was very moving, people were crying. Everyone applauded," reflects Dalençon Catherine, 50.
Antoine Thomas and Corentin Naveau, 17, they come to Epernay. They admit "being out of step" with their generation. "The trend (of music) now is the ease, another way of thinking" compared to Morrison, Corentin says, while praising the "charisma" of the singer and poet. "We're nostalgic for a time we did not know," added his companion.
Eugen Majar, it is to Timisoara in Romania. "I'm here every year, every July 3," says the young man of 29 years. He just met Julien Lapierre, 27 years and come to Tours. Both agree that the words of Morrison "still have meaning today."
Pascale and Eric Vermeulen, 49 and 45, come straight from Belgium with their two son. "It was impossible to miss it," she smiles while showing her husband: "Jim Morrison is God for him."
"For us, the Doors are everywhere. We even have a pick of Robby Krieger, he had thrown during a concert. In our room, there are no pictures of children, there is Jim," she insists. Forty years after his death, the mystery remains unsolved Jim Morrison

Forty years later, the ghost of Jim Morrison died in Paris and buried in the cemetery of Pere-Lachaise, hangs over France. Cardiac arrest? Overdose? CIA plot? Directed? The circumstances of the death of the "Lizard King" are surrounded by shadows.
Condemned the U.S. for "indecent exhibition" , the singer of The Doors went into exile in Paris in the spring of 1971. Out with his band, he came to join his girlfriend Pamela Courson, with the objective to devote himself to poetry. But the health of the former sex symbol, now alcoholic and obese, is rapidly deteriorating. On July 3 in the morning he was discovered dead in the bathtub of his Paris home. The findings of the police, he died of a heart attack at age 27.
Despite a history of Morrison, the police does not order an autopsy. The Doors manager, Bill Siddons , jump on a plane, but the coffin was already closed when he arrives.
CONCERTS OF FORMER MEMBERS
Two concerts will be held Sunday in the capital, to mark the anniversary. Two of his former accomplices of Doors organist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger , whose contribution to the music of the psychedelic band has often been overshadowed by the charisma of Morrison, will perform at Bataclan.
The two musicians in 2008 lost the right to perform under the name The Doors after a court battle against the heirs of Morrison and drummer John Densmore . But they continue to take the stage "Riders on the Storm," "Roadhouse Blues" or "Light My Fire." The concert of Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger sold out but fans will also have the opportunity to go to another concert the same evening at La Cigale, the "tribute band" The Doors Alive UK.
BOOKS AND THESES ON HIS DEATH
In bookstores, the "Lizard King" is still recipe. The writer Sam Bernett publishes "Jim Morrison: the truth" (Ed. du Rocher), a picture book in which he again challenged his version of the singer's death in California. The author, who says he witnessed the last hours of Morrison, said he is not dead in a bathtub but the toilet of a nightclub in Paris which he was the manager. Journalist Jean-Noël Oguz published another biography "The Doors, the real story" (ed. Fetjaine). If it also traces the life of the rock icon of 60's, the book focuses more on musical aspects of the history of The Doors. The book also discusses the group's life after the death of the singer and the exploitation of the phenomenon Morrison.
In the novel "Dealer or the waltz of the damned" (Volum ed.), Philippe Will looks at the figure of Jean de Breteuil , introduced as the dealer of the stars whose role in the death of Jim Morrison is central to all speculation surrounding the death of the singer. For its part, the American Henry Diltz , one of the most famous photographers in the world of Rock, published a photo book "Jim Morrison and the Doors" (ed. Premium).
Premium). www.lemonde.fr/culture/article/2011/07/03/quarante-ans-apres-le-mystere-jim-morrison-reste-entier_1544179_3246.htmlThe Doors : Jim Morrison est mort il y a 40 ans (The Doors: Jim Morrison Died Here 40 Years Ago)Uploaded to u-tube July 3 2011

Jim Morrison 40 years later, his death remains a mysteryHe was found dead in the bathtub of his Paris apartment July 3, 1971. Forty years later, the circumstances of the death of Jim Morrison remains a mystery unsolved, feeding moult theories. Today is the anniversary of the death of Jim Morrison, an emblematic figure of the mythical rock with his band, The Doors. On July 3, 1971, in exile in France following a conviction for "indecent exhibition" in the United States, the leader of The Doors was found dead in the bathtub of his apartment by his girlfriend at the time, Pamela Courson. Cardiac arrest, the police concluded. Shocked by this news, Bill Siddons, manager of the group, jumped on a plane but the coffin was already closed his arrival, but no autopsy has been carried out to confirm the facts. If his partner confirms the instant cardiac arrest, she changed her story several times over the following years, until his death four years later. Thus began a bundle of speculation and theories, each delivering its explanation of the facts. Some think eliminated by the CIA as part of a vast conspiracy, others expect the overdose while Ray Manzarek, The Doors organist, the suspect outright be alive! Citing a conversation he had with the singer a year before his death, he confided to an English tabloid whether his friend had simply not staged his death to start a new life incognito. In the cemetery of Pere- Lachaise where he is buried, the cult of Jim Morrison is still alive and nostalgic of the 60 cross on his grave adolescents fed from the cradle to the poetry of the "Lizard King". Staff members of the cemetery, which continuously monitor the tomb to prevent damage, predicting a record attendance this Sunday for the 40th anniversary of the death of Jim Morrison. But the biggest fans of the performer of "Light My Fire" will not only just a pilgrimage to his grave. Indeed, many companies organize tours of several hours in Paris in the footsteps of the singer: his home, his favorite pubs. One way (profitable) as an alternative to commemorate the legend .. www.chartsinfrance.net/Jim-Morrison/news-74442.htmlLa Provence News (French) Jim Morrison, carried away by the heroine of the French Published Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 2:41 p.m.The last night of his life, Jim Morrison went to a movie in Paris, fell ill and died of a heart attack. Yet four decades after July 3, 1971, the mystery remains ... The last night of his life, Jim Morrison went to a movie in Paris, fell ill and died of a heart attack. This is the official history for 40 years. In any case, the version given to police by Pamela Courson, Jim's girlfriend. She said they both went to the movies and then went to bed. She said the singer of The Doors woke in the night feeling ill and took a hot bath. It was later found dead in his bath. Yet four decades after July 3, 1971, the mystery remains, fueling one of the most heated debates in the history of rock'n'roll. Unlike the official version, it seems that Morrison had died of a heroin overdose. A little cut drugs provided by drug dealers who had been source in Marseille. Author of numerous books on music, François Jouffa ensures that all Paris was aware at the death of the singer: "Everyone on the day of his death, said that Jim Morrison had died overnight in the toilet Men's Rock'n'Roll Circus, a nightclub where he liked hanging out. " This was just a rumor, however, took shape recently, following a fascinating documentary by Michael Gagnet ("The Last Days of Jim Morrison ") and a book Sam Bernett, former manager of the Paris nightclub. They both brought a new light on the night of July 3, 1971, with many testimonials. "Jim Morrison's entourage, close friends and his girlfriend Pamela Courson had agreed to a version in which there was no drug or alcohol overdose, Bernett said. I was not going argue out of respect for his family and his entourage. " He decided to write the book that the truth is finally known: "All I did was put black and white what a lot of people know. I tell the facts," said Bernett, who worked in the past as a reporter for The New York Times. In his book "The End: Jim Morrison" (Editions du Rocher), Bernett said that the night of his death, Morrison came to his club. He served as vodka. Then, the rocker was joined by two men who sold him heroin. At one point in the evening, Bernett realized that the singer was not there. Alerted by an employee, a bouncer broke down the door of a toilet that was closed and found Morrison collapsed on the seat. "The flamboyant singer of The Doors, the beautiful California boy has become an inert mass collapsed in the toilet of a nightclub, Bernett writes. His face is gray, eyes closed, there is blood under his nose, and drooling white as the foam around the mouth slightly open and the beard. Jim is not breathing. The doctor is no fool and talks about fatal overdose. " Bernett did not see Morrison take any heroin that night, but according to him, people knew that he would rather sniff the drug because he was afraid of needles. He says the two dealers have claimed that he was only unconscious and took him out of the club. He thinks that Morrison was returned to her apartment and that he was immersed in a bath to try to revive him. Bernett says he wanted to call for help at the club but his boss, who feared a scandal, asked him not to get involved: "I objected violently but at the time I was 26 I was not the boss. " In the documentary by Michael Gagnet, we learn that the drug was recovered in Marseille by two dealers. A heroine of exceptional quality, very low cut, which could explain the overdose. "At the time, Marseille was what was best for the white, a true international label, confirms Thierry Colombie, author of several books on organized crime in Marseilles . The French connection is not a movie theater: the chemists of Marseille were really the best. " The testimony of a singer from Marseille, installed at the time in Paris, going along the same lines: "When a delivery from the Old Port was announced, the whole capital was in the starting blocks. Morrison is in this trip dope, he and others ". Faced with this new evidence, proponents of the official version can they reverse? Problem, if Jim Morrison was buried July 7, 1971 at the Pere Lachaise cemetery, there was no autopsy. As for Pamela Courson, she died of an overdose in 1974. There are two key witnesses, who know all or part of the truth: the filmmakers Alain Resnais and Agnes Varda, two relatives of the couple, as Jim's girlfriend had called for help. However, they refused to endorse the script of the drug. The two remaining dealers. But even 40 years later, one imagines they come out of silence. Moreover, are they still alive? 40 years later, the guitarist of The Doors unveils Robbie Krieger is one of three surviving Doors. The guitarist is now in Paris for a tribute concert in the company of Ray Manzarek, organist with glasses and straight hair. Interviewed by Christian Eudeline, it has delivered its share of truth, which confirms the version of the overdose in the toilet of the "rock'n'roll circus". What can you say about the July 3, 1971? Robbie Krieger: "I was at home in my house in Malibu, California and I got a call from our manager Bill Siddons, he had just learned that Jim was dead. At the time, I could not believe it, because we have often heard this story. It was not the first time that you announced? Robbie Krieger: No, people kept saying things completely crazy about Jim, I do not know how many times he jumped out the window example ... Bill Siddons took the first flight to Paris, because there it seemed for a fact that something serious had happened. What did he say about the circumstances of the death of Jim? Robbie Krieger: What Jim was dead in a box of an overdose, someone had given him the heroin, he was drunk and that he had abused did not realize that the dose injected. Then, he had been taken to his hotel, which had put him in a bath to try to revive him ... It's the story Bill told me forty years ago. I truly believe now in hindsight, that this story is very similar to what happened at the time, but this has been made public so to speak until very late. Jim Morrison died 40 years ago: The Doors singer was found unresponsive in a bathtub in Paris BY KATHLEEN PERRICONE DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
Sunday, July 3rd 2011, 12:27 PMForty years ago today, Jim Morrison died at the age of 27 -- and broke on through to the other side. The Doors singer's body was discovered by his girlfriend, Pamela Courson, in a bathtub in his Paris apartment on July, 3 1971. Persuant to French law, no autopsy was performed on Morrison because foul play was not suspected -- and that only added to the mystery surrounding his death. After returning to the U.S., Courson told Danny Sugerman, the manager of The Doors, that Morrison had died of a heroin overdose after ingesting what he thought was cocaine. Later, Sugerman says Courson, a heroin addict herself, changed her story a number of times, and even admitted she had killed Morrison. Twenty years after Morrison's death, friends Alain Ronay and Agnes Varda broke their silence and gave their account of what happened that day. The two admitted that when they arrived at Morrison's apartment, Courson told them that they had both taken heroin after a night of drinking, and Morrison began coughing so badly, he was vomiting blood. When he seemed better, she went to sleep. But when she awoke a short time later, she found him in the bath unresponsive and called for help. Other conspiracy theories include that Morrison overdosed in a bathroom at Paris’ Rock 'n' Roll Circus nightclub, and was then dumped in his bathtub by two drug dealers. Morrison's body is buried in the Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, and has become one of the city's most-visited tourist attractions. Three years after Morrison's death, Courson overdosed on heroin in California. Morrison formed The Doors in 1965 with Ray Manzarek, John Densmore and Robby Krieger. Until his death, they released six studio albums together and scored hits with "Break on Through (To the Other Side)," "Light My Fire," "Hello, I Love You" and "Riders on the Storm." www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/2011/07/03/2011-07-03_jim_morrison_died_40_years_ago_the_doors_singer_was_found_unresponsive_in_a_bath.htmlNewser Former members of The Doors honor Jim Morrison in Paris on 40th anniversary of his death Jim Morrison honored on anniversary of his death ASSOCIATED PRESS | 6 hours, 6 minutes ago in Living Former members of The Doors have marked the 40th anniversary of the death of Jim Morrison by lighting candles at his grave in Paris. Four decades after his death in Paris, aged 27, following the magnetism of mystery around the figure of Jim Morrison, the poet who led The Doors and became an icon of a generation. The trail of the last steps Morrison - who died at the same age as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Brian Jones and Kurt Cobain - left Paris full of places revered by hardcore fans every July 3rd. On Sunday, the Bataclan concert hall, keyboardist and guitarist of the band will show in a tribute to Morrison under the title "Ray Manzarek & Robby Krieger of The Doors," which does not participate John Densmore, drums of the original group. But there are other parts of the City of Light that watch over the boy's memory shy and eccentric that led to radio stations throughout the world of psychedelic rock songs like "The End", "Break On Through" or "Touch Me." Protected by a metal fence in the sixth division of the Pere Lachaise cemetery, the remains of James Douglas Morrison (1943-1971) lie beneath a tombstone that is never without flowers and where an epitaph reads: "Kata ton eaytoy daimon" (True to his own spirit). There gather supporters, who often recite poems, take photographs or place bottles bourbon next to the famous stone, much more frequented than those of the writer Oscar Wilde, the soprano Maria Callas or the composer Frederic Chopin, who are close. "I felt sadness and respect to see the tomb," said Efe Babtist Sandy, London established in Melbourne will return home with a small bust of the artist in the trunk. Decorated with leather armchairs and decorated with giant effigies of Morrison and his group, the King Lézard Bar serves cocktails like "Light My Fire" or "Strange Days" in tribute to the songs of the idols of the owner, Christophe Maillet. "I made this bar for Jim, my personal collection," he told Efe Maillet, whom the lawyers of The Doors chide you for using the group name and image without permission. A major milestones related to Morrison in Paris is the number 17 rue de Beautreillis, Haussmanian a five-story building near the Place des Vosges. This is the last place he lived during his four months of residence in the city, and where it declared dead by cardiac arrest, although his body has never undergone autopsy, which generated many theories about his death. Sam Bernet, author of several books about The Doors and the former club owner Rock'n Roll Circus, argues that Morrison died at his bar, and that he himself was the one who led the club to his house. "I was among three people who found him dead in the back of the club," said Bernet, which ensured that a client and a doctor "found death by overdose "of heroin. There are also those who suspect that Morrison never died, and those who think that his father, a military man, took his body from the grave in Paris and repatriated to the United States illegally. "Deep in my heart, I do not want think he died of an overdose. Jim was better than all this, "said Sandy Babtist. "Lizard King" has arrived in Paris in March 1971 overweight and alcoholic, to concentrate on his poetry. Morrison was a far from sexy and provocative young woman shortly before that stood out on stage with his improvisations. "Without The Doors, Jim would only have been a drunk and a drug addict like all of us," jokes Caataa Reed, who flew from Australia to celebrate her birthday in Paris. A year before arriving in France, Morrison was convicted of lewd and lascivious conduct during a concert in Miami, but has avoided jail with appeals and bail of $ 50,000. The universe of rock at the time had suffered a hard blow with almost consecutive deaths of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, and "Jimbo" took refuge in Paris with his girlfriend Pamela Courson, who shortly afterwards found dead in her bathtub. "Jim would not have gone to Paris if it had not happened all that m. .. in Miami, "laments Baptist recalling how he ended the spiral of success and self-destruction of one of the greatest legends of rock. www.cidadeverde.com/morte-de-jim-morrison-ex-vocalistas-do-the-doors-completa-40-anos-80208(Translated From French To English)AFP - 03/07/2011 at 18:55 Forty years later, the fans of Jim Morrison in Pere Lachaise collect Among the fans of Jim Morrison gathered around his grave in Pere Lachaise in Paris on Sunday, the vast majority was not born when he was at the height of his fame. (Translated From French To English)The New Observer Posted on 04-07-11 at 08:22 Edited at 17:26 Jim Morrison's Death Still A Mystery Cardiac arrest? Overdose? CIA plot? Directed? 40 years after the death of Jim Morrison, found dead July 3, 1971 in his bathtub in Paris, the circumstances of the death of the "Lizard King" are surrounded by shadows. Condemned the U.S. for "indecent exhibition", the singer of The Doors went into exile in Paris in the spring of 1971. Despite the history of Morrison, the police does not order an autopsy. The Doors manager, Bill Siddons, jump on a plane, but the coffin was already closed when he arrives. The official will be that of Pamela Courson, who said that the singer died in the night at home. But the young woman will deliver different versions and sometimes inconsistent until he died of an overdose four years later. The singer was buried July 7 in the cemetery of Pere-Lachaise in the presence of only five people. There is still the subject of a lively worship and his tomb is one of the most visited Pere-Lachaise, where many celebrities are buried, Chopin Marcel Proust and Oscar Wilde. The news of his death, which has already spread around the world, is officially confirmed that two days later. In "The Doors, the real story" of the journalist Jean-Noël Oguz (Ed. Fetjaine), Bill Siddons said that by doing so Morrison's entourage wanted to "avoid the circus that surrounded the deaths of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. " But all the ingredients to flourish speculation and theories about the real causes of the death of Morrison. In 1983, a British journalist questions the CIA as part of a vast conspiracy to eliminate personalities against-culture. Others cite the French secret service or a Zionist conspiracy. Theses which, 40 years later, are still widely debated on the internet. For its part, the journalist and writer Sam Bernett disputes the view of the heart attack, suggesting that the rock icon would have succumbed to an overdose. In a 2007 book, Sam Bernett says that Morrison is not dead in the bathtub but the toilet of a nightclub in Paris which he was the manager, "Rock'n'Roll Circus". "Jim Morrison was there, his head between his knees, his arms dangling. (...) His face was gray, his eyes closed, there was blood under his nose, a whitish slime like foam around the mouth slightly open and the beard, "he wrote in" Jim Morrison, the truth "(Ed. du Rocher), a new book he published about it. According to the writer, a doctor would have found the singer's death and two men whom Morrison had purchased the drugs a few moments before had dragged the body into a taxi to take him back to his home. For fear of scandal, the club owner would have preferred not notify the police. And if, like Elvis, Morrison was still alive? The organist Ray Manzarek of The Doors has itself fueled the theory. Citing a conversation he had with the singer a year before his death, he confessed to a British tabloid whether his friend had simply not staged his death to start a new life incognito. Ray Manzarek Paris to attend a concert tribute to Jim Morrison, which also coincides with the release of several books on rock legend, to mark the 40th anniversary of his death. tempsreel.nouvelobs.com/actualite/culture/20110704.AFP6080/la-mort-de-jim-morrison-reste-une-enigme.html(Translated From French To English) La Croix News (France) JEAN-YVES DANA 04/07/11 - 15 H 48 UPDATED ON 4/7/11 - 15 48 H Jim Morrison Always Star Forty Years After His Death To mark the 40th anniversary of the death of Jim Morrison fans of all generations had agreed to meet Sunday, July 3 in the Parisian cemetery of Pere-Lachaise, where the American singer and poet was buried. Next to the stele, admirers around the world have succeeded and resumed in the choir, in a quiet, all songs of The Doors. More generally, this celebration gives rise to the organization of concerts and several editions of books. Sunday, July 3, 2011, almost ordinary day in the alleys of the cemetery of Pere-Lachaise. The large green lung in the east of Paris is open to relatives of the dead buried there and the tourists came to pray before the tomb of one of the many celebrities sitting under their feet. More than 2 million visitors a year pass through its portal of the door of Dhuys, to the Place Gambetta and Boulevard Ménilmontant, the opposite. VISITORS FLOCK TO THE 6TH DIVISION In this sunny Sunday, though, the influx is significant in the aisles. And neither Edith Piaf, or Chopin, or even Allan Kardec, founder of spiritualism, does seem to have the attractive force sufficient to divert them from their purpose the thousands of visitors of all ages, sharing in all languages and arguing for a specific purpose, the plan site by hand. "That's from the opening morning. Hard to say how many people came, but probably thousands of people, "said a guard while two visitors are entering new, young, wearing the T-shirt bearing the image of their idol. With a strong Germanic accent and a lot of application, they ask their way. They are quick to converge, like others, to the south-east of the cemetery toward the alleys adjacent to the sixth division, where, instead of the experts will tell you, is the monument to the days of insurgency in June 1848 . The crowd is there, gathered, gathered among the tombs surrounding that of Jim Morrison (Jean-Yves Dana / Cross) There is also, since July 7, 1971, forty years ago, the burial place of many of the fans this peaceful, green setting of silence right in Paris, consider "the intruder Père-Lachaise" Jim Morrison. Poet close to the movement "beat" at the end of his life, man was primarily for the public voice of gold, the charismatic singer of the rock band The Doors psychedelic California, one of the most influential in history of pop music. Morrison with his life, however, has lasted "only" six albums (three after his death), sold over 100 million copies worldwide, the first was an absolute bang, opening onto masterpiece Break On Through , closing of the legendary The End , and includes gems like Alabama Song or very sensual Light my Fire . A four-course started in 1965, only six years before the untimely death of the star, at age 28. JIM MORRISON IS NOW CELEBRATED IN THE QUIET Morrison remains a sex symbol whose angel face, looking deep, enigmatic, and the long wavy hair, available in tattoos, stencils or transfers still adorn amount of skin patches, walls or clothing ... In the paved walkways Père-Lachaise, the much wear, as Jens, a native of the Netherlands, frequent visitor, who has never seen the place as such a peaceful day. "All is calm, there is that people come to share. It is far from unhealthy scandals and celebrations held here, the early years ... "he said. Indeed, Morrison's grave was for decades the subject of disorders, secret ceremonies held at night, ill. It required special measures of surveillance and probably the vault, as a precaution, do not contain anything other than the memory of the star and his name inscribed in stone under the abundant signed photos, bottles half-empty wine and other flowers scattered regularly filed. In the cemetery of Pere-Lachaise, at the grave of Jim Morrison, lead singer of the fans have in the life ... (Jean-Yves Dana / Cross) By mid-afternoon on Sunday, the gathering almost country has about 300 people who are renewed regularly. "It will make a big ten thousand at the end of the day," said a guard. No need yet for less at ease in orienteering, to ask his way: shouting, singing and applause audible a hundred yards around, can move easily to the place of all meetings. On site, the crowd is there, gathered, gathered among the old graves nearby, those families and Pérard Finot, Castellino or Frager, which once again, this is not the day. They then saw one day the remains of a Jim arrive in their square and forever disturbing the motto engraved around the stone rest in peace. A MYSTERIOUS DEATH, JUST FORTY YEARS AGO Jim Morrison was found dead in his bathtub in Paris, July 3, 1971, officially of a heart attack, an assumption challenged early and often, as it is true that he was buried in a hurry, four days later, without any autopsy in the presence of five witnesses, no other members of the group and while the rock world was barely aware of this sudden death. What gave birth to all the speculation, all legends, all assumptions, including that maintained by journalist Sam Bernett. Manager of a Parisian nightclub at the time, the Rock'n'Roll Circus, he says in a new book, "Jim Morrison, the truth" (Editions du Rocher) that the star - become an alcoholic and obese - died in the bathroom of his establishment to an overdose, like other rock legends before him, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin ... "I will be next on the list," had once joked grimly Jim Morrison, for years seriously addicted to alcohol and drug user. A UNIQUE DESTINY IN ROCK HISTORY Thus was born a myth, created largely in his lifetime. Morrison: Artist skinned, "king lizard" (one of his most psychedelic tracks, Celebration of the Lizard , was played one night in a memorable performance that lasted three quarters of an hour), poet repeatedly compared to Rimbaud , text bright, cursed, prophetic, sulfur tight sometimes ... An avalanche of the famous concerts these days. Sunday night, two of his former accomplices of the Doors, Ray Manzarek (keyboardist) and Robby Krieger (the guitarist), all occurred at the Bataclan in Paris, sold out, without the right to use the name of "Doors "" confiscated "by the beneficiaries of Morrison and drummer John Densmore. Several books also, like the beautiful album photographer Henry Diltz of American rock, Jim Morrison & the Doors (Ed. Premium), which followed the Californian quartet at the time of preparing the album, Morrison Hotel . He took particular December 17, 1969 the famous photograph through a window on the cover of this album wonderful, already sounding the beginning of the end for The Doors ... "" a roll of color film and five minutes were needed, " He says in this book of visual memories. In spring 1971, Jim Morrison had been exiled in Paris after a conviction in his country for "indecent exhibition" at a concert in Miami on March 1, 1969, in which, completely drunk, he would be stripped naked. Out with his band, he joined his girlfriend in France, the stated purpose then to cease operations as a rock star to devote himself to poetry. But the gnawing alcohol, obesity and deforms his health is deteriorating rapidly, to sad and tragic ending ... RALLY IN THE FORM OF CHORAL COSMOPOLITAN Of this pathetic, nothing remains in the memories of nostalgic Père-Lachaise, which celebrate the worship of the creator in a ceremony inspired good-natured. An American magazine has even organized a one-week trip to Paris for the occasion. We speak English, Spanish, French, Dutch or Russian. Some are sitting on the floor, most are still standing, forming a kind of round that closed emerge outstretched arms and cameras. According to a well-oiled and pretty decent summer camps - one person speaks the first words of a song, quickly joined by all other participants - the entire directory of Doors is taken without musical accompaniment or hesitation on the texts: removed most titles as The Changeling , the most inspired, such as Riders on the Storm , the most famous, like The End , the most poetic, such as The Crystal Ship. All of these admirers from the village rock world do not know them but communion without embarrassment, smiling, congratulating each other, always clearly fascinated by the wealth of texts Morrison. A majority of those present had not been born forty years ago, which does not fully know the directory. Fans of all ages to Jim Morrison had come many, Sunday, July 3, the anniversary of the death of the singer of The Doors (Jean-Yves Dana / Cross)"I did not know it was the anniversary today, but I discovered the Doors a few years ago, thanks to the movie Oliver Stone has devoted since I listened and learned several songs and I wanted to come see the grave of Jim Morrison on a trip to Paris, "says a Quebecer than thirty years, very pleased to join the choir group. "I do not know who is this guy, never heard! "Jokes, echoing, a French visitor older, come for a walk in the cemetery, attracted by the crowd and singing, and watching the ritual. Not far from him, the pale blue costumes a dozen police guards, body erect, alert, tense face to a smiling - still - for others who enjoy the show and this Sunday at Green . They do not have much to do but to deter those who would like to turn now to celebrate bolder. And only intervene to prevent the participants to set foot on a tombstone around. The simple slab of Jim Morrison, it is protected by security gates. Only once, a fan is used to cross it to make a photo, like other visitors to the cemetery do elsewhere. It will be expelled from the cemetery firm for this package. Certainly, even harmless, Jim Morrison is still entitled to preferential treatment. www.la-croix.com/Culture-Loisirs/Culture/Musique/Jim-Morrison-toujours-star-quarante-ans-apres-sa-mort-_NG_-2011-07-04-685469

One thing was evident and that was I had the most unique 40 year T shirt on the day And those two were not there to honour a friend but there to keep their pension healthy. This Jim was my friend routine has gone on too long. The stuff here on this forum shows how much of a friend these three were to Morrison. To be honest as a fan I felt rather offended by the prescence of those two hypocrites and sided with Morrison's family. Good time but very tired as just got in 2 hours ago.

Sky News (Australia) Updated: 22:33, Wednesday July 6, 2011 Fans Commemorate A Rock Legend Last weekend was the 40th anniversary of the death of rock legend Jim Morrison, the lead singer of The Doors. Adoring fans gathered in Paris at the Pere Lachaise cemetery where Morrison is buried - a site which has become a pilgrimage for those who love his music. Fans from around the world sang, cried and recited poetry to commemorate Morrison's death. Will Comer came from Liverpool in the UK especially for the anniversary. 'It's really, it's something special, I've never ever done anything like this before, I mean, we came all the way from England just to, this was the only reason why we came here today,' Comer told Reuters. He continued: 'Now we are here and it's exactly how I imagined it, just people celebrating love and all the things that are going on in the world, this is going on here right now, 2011, 40 years later such beautiful things can still go on in the spirit of Jim Morrison's music.' Morrison was found dead in a bath after a drug and alcohol overdose on July 3, 1971. (Web link includes video from July 3 2011)www.skynews.com.au/showbiz/article.aspx?id=634618&vId=2538837

Dangerous Minds by Marc Campbell July 4 2011
PISSING ON JIM MORRISON’S GRAVERay Manzarek desperately attempts to resurrect the 40 year old corpse of Jim Morrison.Yesterday, on the 40th anniversary of Jim Morrison’s death, Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger played a Doors gig after visiting Morrison’s grave site at Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. Fronted by one of the band’s endless series of faux Lizard Kings, Morrison look-a-like David Brock of Doors cover band Wild Child, Manzarek and Krieger did their best to remind anyone watching why their music careers have been utterly insignificant since Morrison died. John Densmore had the good taste and wisdom to not attend. Advice to Manzarek: stop pissing on your legacy. I know your Muse - and cash cow- abandoned you when Jim checked out in that bathtub but your determination to milk every last drop out of the Doors’ legacy has been arrogant, pathetic and shameless. If you must perform, call up the former members of your Doors knock-off Nite City. They could probably use the work. And Ian Astbury has probably got some holes in his Cult tour schedule. Every time you drag out another version of The Doors, you remind us all of how utterly empty the band is without Jim’s voice and presence. Last night in Paris, the “Doors” played “Riders On The Storm” with all of the conviction of a jaded lounge band eternally grinding it out in a Ramada Inn somewhere in Hell. May the wrath of the ghost of the Lizard King be upon them. “When the music’s over Turn out the lights” (Weblink includes 67 comments)www.dangerousminds.net/comments/pissing_on_jim_morrisons_grave/
