Robby Kriegers guitar genius certainly shines on his post-Door work although mainly limited to instrumental work as unlike Ray he never had a voice worth a damn.
This probably contributed to the severe lack of success although even with a sublime vocalist like Jess Roden for The Butts Band effort no member of The Doors has ever made an impact on his own....bit sad that!
So whats your fave Krieger album?

As i only own VERSIONS i could in all fairness only vote for that....(Got a copy off amazon.....) His Instrumental version of WILD CHILD is amazing, really fantastic guitar work on that, a gem pure and simple  |

unlike Ray he never had a voice worth a damn.  lol I think sometimes you say this stuff just to see if I'm still paying attention! Ray has some stinkers as far as lyrics and singing. Granted I am basing my opinion entirely on the two post morrison Doors records... but I gotta say Rays voice doesnt impress me on either of those and Robbies does. I think his laid back & non cracking voice is alot more soothing then Ray's strained & nasal blues wannabe musings.

Agree on both points but on his day has a great blues voice. Robby always made me cringe when he sang.....I saw the sense in Other Voices allowing the one who wrote the song to sing it but the direct comparison of Ray and Robby as vocalists that album affords leaves Ray winning by a small galaxy.....  |

You know what man. I just started making those OV FC boots and on the mint LP rays voice sounds boomier. It has more depth then I'm used to. I really like his singing on "Tightrope Ride"
