Now this may be a little far fetched but could jim possibly have been an individual who stumbled upon the secret to immortality? Some of the lyrics make me wonder. Like, ride the snake to the ancient lake ( the snake who tempted Adam and Eve in genesis with immortality? Choose the ancient ones beside an ancient lake, come follow me across the sea endlessly, 5 to 1 baby 1 in 5 no one here gets out alive, gonna make it baby in our prime, there's a killer on the road ( the ancient lunatic who reigns in the trees of the night? Who runs the soul kitchen? ) if you give this man a ride sweet family will die, the world on you depends our life will never end, here's an interesting poem called the crossroads: meet me at your parents gate and I will tell you what you need to do to survive, flee the blood stained streets and poisoned wells of your father, enter the sweet forest show me the way to the next whiskey bar oh don't ask why ( he possibly answers this question when he tells us we must die ) the day destroys the night and the night divides the day ( kind of like time doesn't exist ) he tried to run he tried to hide, he broke on through to the other side, so how do I follow jim across the sea endlessly? How do I break on through to the other side, to the perimeter, the land of eternal adolescence, ( as he said in one of his poems) until then there will jut be blood in the streets up to my ankles
