Never before seen Jim Morrison Paris Notebook"From the collection of rock legend Graham Nash, who writes on the inside of the custom full-leather clamshell case, "Handwritten book by Jim Morrison - given to me by Bill Siddons in the 80's Graham Nash. P.S. Bill Siddons was the man who picked up Jim's body in Paris. He was also my manager." " There must have been some kind of presentation case that he wrote on as it's not in the pages I have. Was sold at auction for $240K. 112 pages of Jim Morrison's musings, poems, babblings and thinking.
Some of it's good, some of it's excruciatingly bad and lots in between. Enjoy "Sometimes I feel as if there's a vast guerrilla war going on for the mind of man, com[munist] x com[munist], cap[italist] x cap[italist], artist x artist. And the stakes are huge. Will we spoil the best secrets of life or will we help to free a New Kind of Man? It's intox[icating] to think of that. There's something rich waiting if one of us is good enough & brave enough to get there." Poems include "The Hive", "The City", "Arcade" ,"Peep Shows", "Jupien's Brothel", "The Andalusian Bitch", "Bondage", "Brothers on a Sundeck", "The Cockpit", "Omniscience", "Yoga Powers" ,"Gods Into Men" and "Masque (Happening)." Also includes commentary on French novelist, essayist and critic Marcel Proust & and some comments on Goethe. Some of this is quite familiar to those who have read Jim's published work. No clue to where this is or when. But it looks like 1970 and Jim is holding one of his work books. Probably not this one and could be the trial as he made notes on that for a possible book on it. But a rare and interesting photo of him and his journals all the same.
