Jim Morrison signed first edition, first printing of his personal copy of ''An American Prayer'', Morrison's third and final collection of poetry. Privately printed for Morrison by Western Lithographers, 1970; limited to 500 first printing copies. This was Morrison's personal copy, inscribed by him on the title page, ''To Jack / J Morrison''. in black felt-tip. The recipient, Jack F. Moore, Jr. was a news reporter at WCKT (now WSVN) Channel 7 in Miami who visited Morrison at the Dade County Jail after he was arrested for lewd behaviour in 1970. The young charismatic reporter instantly formed a connection with Morrison, who gave Moore his own copy of the book after the interview.
