A perfect example of how myth and reality can mix together and produce a pile of sewage like this.
What do we know? Well Jimi was playing that night at the Scene with some guys who may or may have not been members of Johnny Winter's band. We know Johnny was playing a gig hundreds of miles away because he told us when confronted with him being in the room with Morrison & Hendrix. He said he had never met Morrison in his life. If so Rick Derringer was with Johnny's band along with his brother Randy on drums and another Randy (Jo Hobbs) on bass.
A drunken arcehole grabs the mike and begins to embarrass himself by showing what a drunken fuck he was sometimes. Not always but this night was recorded so we know a lot about it. He never said he wanted to suck Jimi's cock on the LPs & CDs I have heard and just groaned 'fuckherintheass' repeatedly. Jimi was too much of a gentleman to lay Morrison out and let the idiot make a total fool of himself.
Contrary to Danny Fields bullshit Janis Joplin was not there and did not hit Jim with a bottle of Southern Comfort That happened at a party in LA when Jim was trying to bother her and she twatted him with her bottle.
It's a shame someone hadn't took a photo but I've never seen one myself. There have been badly photoshopped one ones on the Net but Jimi, Janis & Jim were never in a room together except in the fantasies of people like Fields.

Well, the Hendrix fans are busy uncovering every last nuance related to Jimi. In a recent book on Jimi's chronology, "Hendrix 1968 Day By Day", it is said the date is March 18th, as per Noel's diary ("Went to the Salvation. Met geezer from The Doors. Went to the Scene."). The line-up is uncertain, but includes Jimi, Mitch, Paul Caruso, Harvey Brooks, and members of The McCoys and Eire Apparent (who played a set before the jam). Caruso, Rick Derringer and Mitch are recognized by the fans by their styles. buddy Miles was quoted to be there by Henry McCullough, but as for his playing on the tape it seems unlikely.
It is said that Jim collapsed on stage, grabbed Jimi's ankles, and then dragged himself away, knocking drinks in Janis' lap. Janis: "I wouldn't mind, if he could sing".

Also, there is a highly essential book for The Doors' fans, Harvey Brooks' memoir "View From The Bottom". He says he met with Janis and Albert Grossman at the Bitter End...then he, Janis and her mob went into the Cafe Au Go Go. Met Jim Morrison "and his bodyguard, Tony" (who he? surely not Funches in 1968). All were highly intoxicated. Brooks took them to the loft of his friend Paul Harris. There, they jammed on "Hold On, I'm Coming" (Sam & Dave). Jim started to howl and went down to his knees at the end of song. Janis laughed and poured her Jose Cuervo on his head. Then Janis and Jim sang some slow blues "about the human condition".
Then they went to the Scene, added Tiny Tim to their company. Hendrix and Buddy Miles called Jim and Harvey up to the stage.
