Not a bad spot for Jim as he was not the best frontman in terms of the way we would define a 'frontman'. He was a great singer and a pretty good showman but too many bad performances rob him of the moniker 'Great'. A pity as like his poetry his stage persona suffered with booze and drugs. Of course a lot of this was due to his band-mates who sold him out on several occasions whilst alive and a lot more when he was dead.
Certainly one of the Greatest Rock Stars Ever. But there were a lot of better front men in the Doors era. Who said being a Doors fan was easy.
