The Doors 40 Year Celebration Los Angeles CA November 8th 2006
Because JD and RDM hated the sight of each other the 2006 40 year bash in LA featured each Door at a separate location.
Ignoring the fact The Doors started life in 1965 the night featured..lots of things to sell which included the 6 album 40 year mixes, a book and another Best Of.
Considering the animosity between the 3 Doors it was a well thought out celebration of The Doors with lots of contrasting exhibitions/events.
It would have been nice to see the 3 Doors play together on the stage at the Whisky but that ship sailed years ago.
1. Ray was at The Cat Club at 8911 Sunset Boulevard hosting a mini exhibition of Doors memorabilia from the R&R Hall Of Fame.
He even managed to sneak Poet In Exile into the celebration
2. John held court in the bookstore Book Soup hosting a poetry reading at 8818 Sunset Boulevard.
3. Robby was at The Whisky A Go-Go 8901 Sunset Boulevard unveiling a plaque and another overpriced Best Of The Doors CD.
Ray joined Robby for the plaque unveiling before the Cat Club and the star studded Whisky gig to end the night. John obviously stayed at Book Soup.
