Personally, for me, the most beautiful work of James Douglas Morrison. Is it known when it was written, who it was for? I really love this Poem, can anyone give me more information on it?
Thank You...
I found my own true love was on a blue Sunday. She looked at me and told me I was the only One in the world. Now I have found my girl. My girl awaits for me in tender time. My girl is mine, She is the world, She is my girl. My girl awaits for me in tender time. My girl is mine, She is the world,She is my girl.

Most likely just a little love song for Pam........ The Doors struggled to find material for Morrison Hotel due to the distraction of the court case and the fact Morrison was drinking too much....thye wanted to avoid another Soft Parade so went for simplicity and a more comfortable bluesy feel...so they used 'Waiting For The Sun' from 1968 and 'Indian Summer' from 1966 and 'Blue Sunday' was probably just something they worked up from Jim's jottings as a filler but inadvertantly they recorded an under-rated Doors gem.........

My question is: If Peace Frog is Abortion Stories and Blue Sunday is part of peace frog, does Blue Sunday have to do with abortion as well?
A blue sunday seems to be lke a religious ritual. (Druids worshipped during a "blue" moon and in modern culture, Sunday is a day of worship for Christians) Does that have anything to do w/ it or am i reading into it too much?
Peace

Sometimes people do read too much into Morrison's lyrics.....and I think thats what you are doing.........
I doubt Blue Sunday was part of the poetry Morrison labelled Abortion Stories just as I doubt that those poems had much to do with Abortion..............

"I found my own true love to be on a blue sunday." That is amazing... I wonder what the meaning is. For me it feels like a Blue Sunday is once one is lonely. And, He and the Girl were both Lonely, they found... I don't know, still a great song nonetheless.

An example of Jim the crooner. A lovely little under rated Doors song. Nice bit of Krieger guitar work too.
