News of interest for Doors fans....just got this email from the director of the production..... Michael McClure’s play THE BEARD is being revived in London this Summer.
This is the first UK production since 1968. As I am sure you are aware McClure and Jim Morrison have a longstanding association and, at one point, Jim was in the running to play the male lead in THE BEARD. McClure was a long time friend of Jim’s and was responsible in part for the publication and development of his poetry. McClure was a founding father of the Beat movement and very influential in the West Coast hippie culture. Dennis Hopper is quoted as saying that “without McClure’s roar there would have been no Sixties”.

McClure will be in the UK for this production and will be doing public readings. Full details on the play, tickets, etc can be found at www.theatre14167.co.uk/upcoming.htm
I am certain this would be of interest to Doors fans. Please let me know if you carry this information on your site and/or would like any further information.
Kind regards,
Nic Saunders

Ive seen Michael McClure along with Ray...... it was a most enjoyable evening and this was before all the ROTS nonsense erupted.
Michael gave a good poetry reading, while Ray accompanied him musically.
It was the way I will remember seeing Ray, et al.....not the goings on after.
This was at a small venue in Philadelphia, called The Tin Angel...perhaps we are all..TIN ANGELS?
