If you were to introduce the doors to a friend who had hardly ever heard them before, what 3 songs would you let them listen to first? I have a friend at uni and I told her i would intro her to them. I sent the songs via yahoo messanger. i decided to send peeople are strange, cos its one of my faves, roadhouse blues and la woman. because they are classics tunes that may be acceptable to a taste virgin to the doors. I wanted to ease her into listening to them because as we all know they can be an aquired taste I will send her the end soon as its my fave, but she may not be ready for this yet! lol [glow=red,2,300]what 3 songs would you send first and why?[/glow]

If it was a girl who was new to them I'd pick these three as they are pleasant, sexy and intriguing in that order.... Love Street Light My Fire (3 minute version) Hello I Love YouIf it was someone (male or female) well into rock music I'd pick these as they are a mixture of The Doors acid roots and thier kick ass rock potential.... ;D When The Musics Over Light My Fire (long version) LA Woman
If it were a guy who had never heard them I'd choose these three......a great example of thier musical ability, a cool acid rock track and a great drinking song.... Riders On The Storm Break On Through Roadhouse Blues

excellent break down mate well she has given me feedback. she loves roadhouse, gloria and when the musics over. i forgot to tell her gloria wasnt an original doors song. she says people are strange is growing on her. not sent break on through or lite my fire yet for some reason. as i said the first song i sent was people are strange. she told me that it is not what she expected at all...i think i said the doors can never be summed up or expectable! lol

Light My Fire 'cos it's probably the song they are most likely to have heard of already.....even if it was just the Will Young version!!! L.A. Woman 'cos it's just one of the fabbest songs ever, great for dancing to and some good screaming.....but not so much as to scare them off!!! Finally, Riders On The Storm 'cos it's quite different to the other two. A teeny bit calmer and quite beautiful! Love from Sandy.

Ooh! Stop it! You're making me go all unneccesary!!! Do you find that Roadhouse Blues makes you feel dirty? I always do!!! I always feel used and abused after I've listened to that one! I certainly couldn't listen to it in public!!! Love from Sandy.

Oh, hell, anything he does turns me on!

Not to touch the earth The End The Severed Garden
Because that is the way I love Jim and the Doors the most and the kind of people I would want to introduce to the Doors would be able to appreciate those choices.
